WOYWW 181

Hi ladies, it is that time again and I am so ready for some fun. What time is you might ask? It is time for "What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday." A time to travel around the world without leaving the warmth of your very own home. A time to join other artist and crafters in a journey of discovery. To be truly nosey and do a little snooping. Our wonderful hostess is Julia Dunnit and you can find her at The Stamping Ground. So stop on over and take a look around.  But, now for the reason that we do this. A look at what is on my desk. I held the camera up over my head to take this shot and I really like how it came out. Just wanted to give you a better view.

Well, my desk looks a little busy, but I have not really done any work this week. With Thanksgiving just a day away and only one more day of work. I will have some time finish off a couple of projects. At the top of the screen is my gratitude journal. It is some that I came across at a blog called Motherhood on a Dime, it was a free download and for a month, each day you write 4 things that you are thankful for. I am on my second day. Right below there is a set of winter stick pins that I have had for a long time and never used any of them. But, I knew that one day they would come in handy. I plan color one gold with alcohol inks and then add some beads to make it Christmas ready and use in on the front cover of my new christmas mini (which is 8 1/2 x 11) so it is not so mini. My family will be coming down for the week of Christmas and I plan to have lots of photos to put in it. You can see locks and lots of adhesives and other tools of the trade. Well, that is it for me, but be sure to stop by Julia's and say hello.

  2. I missed retuning your visit last week so you are on my list for this week!
Celebrating Thanksgiving is tricky in the UK - you can't easily get pumpkin pie filling! But we still manage it on the weekend. We'll be missing DS this year (too far to travel home from Scotland where he is in Uni) but it'll make Christmas all the better.

I love those stickpins. My top tip for them? Once you stick them thru whatever, add a dot of Glossy Accents or the like on the pointy tip - slip on a little bead and no more worries about pricked fingers :)

    Happy WOYWW!

  3. We don't have thanks giving over here, it sort of looks like another Christmas to us when we see it in films on the telly! Your desk looks very productive, mine is still in a mess, just as I left it last week... The dogs do smell a bit wiffy!! Its a small house to have two dogs! I used to sit at another huge lovely house by the sea, it had loads of room and land, so even if it rained the dogs had somewhere to go with out getting everything else wet! These dogs have been there, we played ball in their tennis courts! This house is long and thin, one room leads to the other, and thats it! Missing my craft room!

  8. My eye was drawn immediately to the pins...love that sort of thing..and just as you've done, can hold onto them for ages before I realise why I needed them! gratitude Journal is pretty, and such a nice thing to have and look back on, no matter how apparently big or small your reasons..

  13. I dont celebrate thanksgiving here in Australia but i do hope that yours is as special and blessed as you want it to be. I am really big on Christmas day but also the 1st of December in my house as the tree goes up, decorations etc. The family all turn up to help do all the above and eat. Special feast is always on the 1st December, like a rehersal for the big 25th day LOL

Lovely stuff on your desk, gratitude album, how precious and what lovely stick pins.

Sorry you wont be able to visit me this week I am not playing along due to work etc, I am checking in with a few from my phone because I couldn't stay away. LOL

    Happy WOYWW
