Celebrate at Mo's Digital Pencil

It is Sunday afternoon, the weekend is almost over. The only really good thing about this is that I got quite a bit of coloring done and I feel 100% better than I did when I got off work on Thursday. All to soon it will be time to return to my job. Where I make the money to be able to play with my colors and papers. I LOVE MY JOB.

Now on to my card. This card takes care of a couple of challenges. You had to know that I would be entering into at least one challenge. (love them). This one card actually covers three challenges. First let's start with Mo's Digital Pencil, too, the challenge was BIRTHDAY so of course I made a birthday card using the MO's image "Mary tapping". The image was colored with Copics. The colors were chosen because of the color challenge at "Sweet Stampin Colour Challenge". The colors were Certainly celery, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Almost Amethyst. Well I did not have these particular colors so I used what I had that came the closest to these.

Mary's outfit was colored with: Rv00, Rv11, R39
skin: E31, E33
hair: E21, E09, E25
The shoes: W5 and then I went over them with Spica glitter pen Pitch Black
The packages: BV04, V17, V12 and Spica glitter pens: Garnet, Blossom, Lilac and Mint
I have Set B.

I colored 2 images of Mary and then cut one of them out and using pop dots I layered the 2 together and it really makes it look like she is moving. I love the way this turned out.

The sketch is from Stamp Something, I recently visited this blog and became a repeat visitor.  Please leave a comment, I would really like to hear what you think of this card.

Lemon & Lime Colour Create Challenge 35

Well I'm back and this time I have done an easel card, my very first. And I really love the way it turned out. The color for this card is the challenge at Colour Create, yellow and green these are not colors that I would have picked, but I love the way it turned out.
I colored it with my Copics, the image is designed by Elizabeth Bell for Sugar Nellie and is called "Daisy".

The Copics used are:
Skin...E31, E33
Pants and flowers...Y08, Y11, Y21, Y13
Grass and leaves and shirt...YG06 G21, G07, G28

I have made some progress on my New Years resolutions. I have used more DP papers. I made a card that wasn't square of rectangle. And I branched out on my color choices.

I hope you like my take on this card. I will definitely make more easel cards in the future. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Tellen's Challenge Silver and Blue

Now it is time to get down to business. I love a challenge and this will be the first one of the year over at Tellen's Place. The challenge is to use silver and blue, plus she offered 2 free images which are drawn by her son. He is very talented. I love their images.

My image was colored with Copics:
Skin... E31 and E33
Hair... E09, E25, E21 and E33
dress....BVo4, B24, B21 plus the ribbon on the dress and hat and shoes were colored with Spica glitter pen, baby blue
The area surrounding her was done with C1

The ribbon is some that I recently bought at Kmart from the Christmas clearance for $1.99 and there are 5 different ribbons in the package. I will be going back tomorrow to get more. The ribbon is by Martha Stewart. The bling is from my stash. The papers are also from my stash. The sentiment was stamped from a set that I bought at Michaels several weeks ago, they had clearanced them out from $9.99 to 4.99 so I got 2 sets for the price of one. It is my Inkadinkado.

I hope you like my card and would appreciate hearing from you.

Another New Years Card

I can't believe that it is already Sunday and almost 12 noon. Before you know it will be time to go back to work. 3 days just goes by to fast. But, I have had a good time. I got to play with my papers and pens and even spent some time with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I used them on the card I am posting. It is for the challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil. I used one of Mo's images. I feel bad because I don't remember the little girls name. But, I think she is so beautiful. And she looks like she is having such a good time. I thought that I would use her to say Happy New Year to a friend that I did not send a Christmas card to.

As I said before, I used my Prismacolor pencils and OMS to color the dress and hair and parts of the flowers. I used my Sakura gel pens on the butterfly and some of the flowers. But for the skin I used my Copics. I have not practiced enough with the pencils to do skin color yet. But, I plan to work on it.

This card will also be entered into a challenge over at If the Shoe fits, Scrap it. The challenge there was to use 10 of brads, embellishments or bling. I used 10 rhinestones along the edge of my card. The ribbon is from my stash as was the rhinestones. Some of the purple papers came from my scrap folder. The DP is left over from my granddaughters scrapbook. The flowers are from my dwindling stash. The sentiment was typed on the computer and then I went over each letter with my Sukura purple metallic gel pen. And I used a little crystal stickles to represent fireworks.

I really like how this card turned out. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. I love to read your comments.

TAKING THE OLD AND MAKING IT NEW

Good morning all, yesterday I talked a little bit about what I wanted to do for the new year. Today I would like to add to that. As far as my life goes, I want to come off of my BP meds and to do that I will have to drop a few pounds and that means more exercise. I plan to make that the main priority of the year. So, yesterday I started the year off right with a 30 minute walk at the health club. I will be on my way back in a few hours for some weight workout.

As far as my craft goes, I want to branch out and be more adventurous. I tend to take the easy and simple way most of the time. I have never tried an easel card that is on my list. I saw a frame card on Jacque's blog for a new challenge, I plan to try that also.

I also plan to try some Altered projects, take something old and make it new. Which is what I have done with this project. It is something that Gina K recently did on Stamp TV, she took an empty square tissue box and made a beautiful box to hold cards. It could actually be used to hold anything you wanted. I decided that I needed something to hold my Prismacolor pencils and glitter pens and gel pens. My work space was becoming just to crowded with containers and I am trying to be more organized. My box is not as pretty but it is definitly functional. Well here it is:

Well this is what I started with, after it was empty.

The whole box was upholstered inside and out and is very sturdy.

As you can see I did not use a lot of embellisments, but I had to use a Tilda.
And yes she was colored with Copics.

There was one small thing about the measurements for this box... Gina used a Kleenex brand tissue box, I used a Walmart brand tissue box. Walmart's tissue box is a bit smaller that the Kleenex brand. So I had to adjust the measurements.

There is one more thing that I can think of that I want to get better with and that is my Prismacolor pencils and OSM. I have only used them once and I need to justify buying so many of them. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

I have been using Magnolia images that were stamped an given to me as a gift in a goodie bag and now finally I am working on an order at the Magnolia-licious store to buy an assortment of new stamps to add to the 4 that I did buy at the scrapbook store near me. I love the fact that you can start an order, log out and go back later and the items are still in your cart. How cool is that. Diana, look for me to be back soon to finish my order.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year all, I would like to thank all the visitors to my blog who have made me want to keep blogging. My new friends who for whatever reason have become followers of my blog.  Thank you so very much. When I started this in October, I had no idea what I was getting into. I had only made a few cards  before and they were all something that someone else had picked the paper and the images for. The only thing I did was put one layer of color on them and glue them together. But, because I send a lot of cards every year for birthdays, Mother's day, Father's day Christmas and even when friends and family are ill or just needing some cheering up I really liked the idea of making my own cards. Lets face it a lot of times the cards that are available are either to expensive or they aren't quite right so why not make my own. I met a lady in Hobby Lobby one evening after work while I was there looking for the Score-pal. She cut into the conversation that I was having with the store employee and told me that they did not carry the Score-pal but she knew where I could get one. We started talking and she told me a little about herself and gave me her phone number and blog address and said that I should take a look. I did. And the more I looked the more I wanted to see. I could not believe all the cards. they were the most beautiful cards that I ever seen. I went from one blog to another, never getting enough. I kept thinking that I could do this. It took a while but finally I set up my blog and posted my first card That was in October.  I was so proud. Then I posted my second, it was a Magnolia Tilda. To make a long story short I became hooked. I keep doing more and trying more things. with my cards. I love entering the challenges. I fell in love with Magnolia stamps. Then I became aquainted with Mo's Digital Stamps and the love just began to spread. I start thinking that I need to get a second job to pay for this addiction. There are so many stamps that I see and want to try, but I can only buy a little at a time. anyway the purpose of all of this is that I would like to do a review of the cards that have been posted over the last 2 months. I think that my coloring and style has gotten better as time has gone along. Once again thank you all for encouraging me to continue.

This was my very first Tilda, can you tell?

Well this is just some of my work. One of my big goals for the year is to use more DP papers. I tend to stay with the solid card stock most of the time and I feel I need to branch out some more. I also want to become more involved in a couple of the groups that I have joined. I worry about not having enough time to finish a project and that is one of the reasons that I have not gotten involved over at the Magnolia-licious group. I am hoping to change that this year.

If you take the time to take a look. Please leave a comment I really love to hear from you.
