Happy St. Patrick's Day Challenge #9

Well good morning all, it is Wednesday and you know that means it is time for another Tellen's Place challenge. And this week is all about St. Patrick's Day. For this day you have to have lots of green and shamrocks and a lot of blarney. If you are Irish it is time to party. Even if you are not Irish it's time to party. I am originally from Chicago and every year the city fathers see fit to turn the Chicago River Green. Can you imagine how much food coloring it takes to turn a river green? Well take my word for it, they do it. I have never understood it though. But there you have it, my one and only story about St. Patrick's Day.

Let's talk about the challenge. Terry the owner of Tellen's Place has graciously offered another freebie for you to use for this challenge. And this is the image that I chose to use for my card. It is an image of Jessica holding a shamrock and she is a real cutie. She looks like she is dancing a jig. The DP paper  that I used was from Basic Grey Wisteria pad, the yellow swiss dot paper is from Bazzill and the shamrocks I bought at Michaels for the occassion. The tag was cut with my Spellbinders fancy tag and the bling is from my stash. The image was colored with my Copics:

Skin: E31, E33
Hair: E09, E15, E13 (notice I got some new colors for my birthday)
Shirt/socks: G24, G21
Shamrock: G07 and the mint spica glitter pen
Pants/shoes: Y21, Y08 the shoe laces were colored with a metallic yellow gel pen
Eyes: E13, E41

I popped up the mat with large pop dots and then I also cut Jessica out and popped her up to give the card a little dimension. The bling is actually jewelled brads that I bought at Michaels. I don't know how many times I have walked right by them and not look twice. But they had some more really nice sets so I will definitely be looking from now on.
After you leave here why don't you go over to Tellen's Place Designs online store and take a look at the lovely images and mini kits that she has to offer. Please take a moment and visit the other Design Team member's blogs and see all of the other wonderful creations. You can get to their blogs from my side bar.

I would like to take this time and welcome the new design Team members Alicia, Pam and Robin. I really believe that you are in for a treat to be designing for Tellen's Place.

I am also entering this card in a challenge at Tuesday Taggers,  the challenge is St. Patrick's Day, this will be the first challenge that I have done there, but I hope to go back again and again.

Well that is all for now.

Green, Green and more Green

I am back and this time with Tilda as my guest. She is all decked out in her green outfit. We are here for a challenge and the first one is Magnolia Down Under, this is the first time I have entered this challenge and it is a recipe challenge. The challenge is 3 papers ( I hope this meant DP paper) 3 flowers, 2 buttons and 1 bow. I hope mine works. The second one is Magnolia-licious Highlites, this one is a sketch.

I rotated the sketch and I think that is ok. My card is different shades of green which falls under another challenge at Cute Card Thursday lucy green. They did not specify which shade of green, so this is good. The next one is Pixie Dust Studio Pixie Challenge, the challenge is to pop things up. I popped my Tilda image and the mat that she is sitting on. Another would be at Stamp Something, the challenge is something girly.  Bling and flowers should fit that category. One other challenge would be at In Styles Stamps Blog, this challenge is to use ribbon. I should have that covered.  Tilda can usually be bought at the Magnolia-licious Online Store, but I heard from Sharon that this one is out of stock. While trying to link to the store, I found that there is a problem with it at the moment. I will come back later and try again.

That should cover the challenges. Now a little about my card. My card base is made with Bazzill. I do love the choices of colors and the feel of this paper. Two pieces of the  DP is from Basic Grey and the other is from the Paper Studio. The sage green ribbon is from my stash. The buttons are from a bag that I recently bought at Hobby Lobby. Boy did they come in handy. The bag is loaded with spring color buttons.  I used a 40% coupon on them. The flowers are from a pack that I bought at Tuesday Morning for $.99 a jar. The bling is from my stash and I used the small Nesstibilites fancy tag for a sentiment. I haven't decided what occasion I am going to use this card for so I left it blank. The branches were cut with a Martha Stewart punch. I colored my card with Copics

Skin: E13, E31
Hair: E09, E02, E15
Clothes: G21, G24, G40
Shoes: W3
Jewelry: spica glitter pen Sand

I greatly appreaciate all coments and words of inspiration.

Something Blue and Oriental

Happy Sunday everyone, I am back and of course I am looking for a challenge. My card today is for a challenge at Sophisticat Challenge blog, the challenge was to make something Oriental. I used this image from Mo's Digital Pencil, it was one of her wonderful freebies some time ago. I have always loved this image and was never sure how I was going to use it. This was the perfect occassion. The second challenge is for Crafty Creation Challenge, different shades of the same color. Well my color is blue. and I definitly have different shades of it. My first paper is a light blue card stock base from Bazzill. The layer of DP was bought at Big Lots on Friday, I saw it and fell in love. It is a deep blue with gold and is very light, almost like a vellum paper. there were 32 pieces of paper in a pack for $2.00. Only three were this design but, it was so worth it. The paper that I matted my image with is also from Bazzill only this one has more of a shine to it. I cut the lace doily with my new stamp from Martha Stewart which I bought with a 50% coupon from Michaels. You know how I love a bargain. The bling is from my stash. The large flower is from Prima's new daisy mix. and the small flowers are from my stash. I cut the leaves or branch with another Martha Stewart stamp that I also used a 50% coupon on. Love those coupons. And last but not least, I colored it with my Copics. And to feed my addiction to Copics, I bought 15 last week at Hobby Lobby during their sale. I can not buy any thing in the month of March. I went way out for my birthday month. All of my birthday money is gone and so is a lot of my money. Now on to the Copics that I used.

Skin: E02, E00, E11
hair: W3, W5
Tea Kettle: c3
Cat: W3, W5
Kimona: B39, B34 and spica glitter pen Baby blue
the Japanese symbol for love I got from the internet, I also colored the background behind the image with B00. but my picture is not as good as I would like. I have got to find a better place to take pictures.

Well, here is my card. I don't know if my skin color is quite right. But I do like this card.

Tellen's Place Challenge #8 "Bling It Up"

Well here it is Wednesday again so that must mean its time for Tellen's Place challenge, this week it is Bling it Up. I know I am really really late getting this posted. But, my internet service was out this morning and I don't know what time they got it back up. I have been with Verizon Broadband for 2 years and this is the first time that there has been a disruption in service. When I called this morning they did not know what had happened or how long it was going to take to fix. I just got home and thankfully it is up and running.

So let's get busy. This weeks challenge is bling it up and you know how much I love bling. I use it every chance I get. Terry has offered a freebie for challengers to use for this challenge . But hey, she usually does. Go by Tellen's Place and check it out. The challenges are fun and you can meet the other Tellen's Place Divas. While you are there, take a moment and visit the new store Tellen's Place Designs. There are lots of great images and mini kits. Don't forget to tell Terry, that I sent you. I think you will really love the images and everything else. Her son Markus does the drawing and he is a very talented young man. I love the images. And while you are at Tellen's Place please pay the other Design Team Divas a visit. All you need to do is click on their pictures and you can see some of their awesome work. You can also get there from my blog.

This week I did something a little different. I made one side of a 2 page scrapbook spread. A few years ago, my son gave me a visit to a spa with the full treatment for mother's day. I took some pictures and never did anything with them. The image I used was perfect for that. Of course she is a DIVA and she knows it.

I used Bazzill card stock and the bling is from my stash. The flowers are Prima, I used a Martha Stewart punch on the edges. the flower brads are from my stash and the words are all mine. The title was made with letters from my scrapbook stash and of course they are blingy. And you know I colored the DIva with my Copics.

I am also entering this page into a challenge at "If the Shoe Fits, Scrap it" The young ladies that run this blog are fabulous and I like to go by everyonce in a while to see what's going on. The challenge is to use the colors burgandy, lime green and fushia. I think I pretty much covered this.

I really appreciate all of your comments and would love to hear more. Thanks for stopping by.

Good morning, once again I am up earlier than I want to be and have decided to post my third card of the weekend. It is a Mo's Digital Image, the image is the little girl reading in the window seat. I am unsure of her name. She was a freebie from Mo sometime ago. And this is the first time that I have colored her. It is also for the challenge at Mo's Digital challenge blog. This weeks challenge is a sketch.

I doubled the challenges up and used a color challenge from Copic Colour Challenge.

I haven't decided what occassion this card will be used for. But, I will probably send it to one of my granddaughters as a thinking of you card since I have already made all of their birthday cards.

The bling is from my stash and I used the Spellbinders fancy tag cut with my Cuttlebug. The image was colored with my Copics. (I have got to start practicing with my Prismacolor pencils or auction them off)
