A Day at the Beach Tellen's Place Challenge #19

Wow, it is Wednesday, and if that is so it must mean it is time for another Tellen's Place challenge. This week, lets go to the beach. SUN, FUN AND SAND. The images that we used this week were drawn by Terry's son Markus. He is a very talented artist and you can check out more of his images at Tellen's Place Designs . Also, while you are checking things out, don't forget to go by and check out the Tellen's Place DIVA'S at their blogs. You can get there by clicking on their names on my side bar.

Well, why don't we talk about my card. It is a scene of the beach. It has 2 young boys enjoying their time building a sand castle. The surf is behind them and all they can see is the sand. I colored this with my copics. E25, E13, E02, E52, E51, E42, E40, B000, BG72, BG78, BG75. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with this image. And after looking at them build a sand castle, I thought, how can they build a sand castle with lots of sand? So I started blending until it looked like the beach. and then I figured they were at the beach they had to have some water. So once again I started to blend colors. (not a clue what I was doing). I can't wait until I can get into a Copics class. When I finished this I thought that it looked like a picture. So I just added some words (summertime) is from my stash. Fun in the Sand, I typed on the computer and the beach chairs are from Jolie, that I got in the clearance ilse at Hobby Lobby. they seem perfect for this image. I plan to use this on a scrapbook page. Since I am planning a trip to the beach really soon. I hope to have some pictures to use with this. I hope that you like my scene.

I also plan to enter this into a challenge at  Crafty Calendar Challenge the great outdoors.

Birthday Club Wishes

Hi all, I am back with another post. This one is going to be really short. This card is another birthday card for a member of my birthday club. I won't call any names just in case they are looking. The image is from The Stamping Boutique you should go over and see what else Tracey has to offer. I colored the image with my copics. And I have to tell you that  for the skin tone I used E25, E13 E11, for the cake E59, E51. E42  and the greens G21, G28, G40. The hair is E09, E25 and E02. the papers are Bazzill and I embossed with my birthday folder and my Cuttlebug. The flower is from the button section of Hobby Lobby. The ribbon is from my stash. The sketch is from Inktegrity Design.

I flippped the sketch and here it is.

I hope you like my card. And please leave lots of comments.

BIRTHDAY FOR A DIVA

Happy Sunday, this should really be a short post because I have got to get dressed and get out really soon. I can not believe the productive week that I have had. And to prove it, here is another card that I just finished. This one is also a birthday card. Although, I have not decided who I will give it to, I do have several more birthdays coming up in the next couple of months. So there is plenty of time to make a decision.

A little about the card. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers: I chose it because of the many layers. The circle on the bottom is embossed with the Cuttlebug and I think it is the bubble folder. I did not write down the name before I threw out the packaging. I also used this on the square of taupe color paper, which is Bazzill the brown that the circle is cut from is Paper Studio. The brown stripe is Basic Grey. The orange under the image is from DCWV safari Chic. The orange squares is from My Minds Eye Home. It seems that every company had something that I needed for this card.

The image is from Bugaboo Stamps I have had it for quite a while and never used it. To be truthful, I have several of the images and have never used any of them. I think that I sometimes forget just what I have. They are digital and I really do love them. Some of them are just down right funny. The owner is Jodie Mackrel and you really should go by and check her out. Why don't I show you my card and then finish telling you about it.

I really love the way that this turned out. The flowers are from Recollections at Michaels. They were only 99 cents. The colors were just perfect for this. I colored this image with my Copics. The colors I used are E25, E13, E02, E42, E09,  for the skin and hair. The ones that I used for the clothes and accessories are colors that I don't use often. They are Y32, Y35, Y38 and my clear spica glitter pen. I colored the pearls, which are from Martha Stewart and I got them when they were clearanced out, with Y38. Around the edges of the images I used distressed ink in Antiqued linen.  I only used a small amount, I did not want it to over power the card. The sentiment is from my clearanced Michaels set of 8. The brads are from my stash.

If you know me, you know that this card is for a few challenges also.
Fab N' Funky Metal mania
Crafty Card Maker Distressed
Creative Belli hole punch
ABC Challenges U is for unused
Crafty Catz petals and pearls

Well, that is it for this card and this post. I will be back later with my second card of the day. I hope that you like this and would love to hear from you.

Special Birthday Wishes

Happy Friday everyone, I am here with a special birthday card. A very good friend asked me to make a card for her 10 year old daughter. Her description to me was, she is a very girly girl. She loves pink and flowers and ribbons and bling. Well I think I gave her that and more. I took the card to my friend today and she loved it. The only thing that I could tell her was do not leave it in the car. I said this because it was almost 90 degrees today. And my car was like a furnace. So every time I got out of the car, I stuck the card in my purse and took it inside every place that I had to go. Anyway I hope she likes it. Do you know what the best thing about this card was. Well, yeah my friend was happy. But, the best thing was, that before I could get out of the parking lot of the place where I had met her. She called me on the phone to ask if I had a business card. She showed the card to some one in the beauty salon where she was getting her hair done and they wanted me to make them a card. She is giving them my number. Wish me luck.

Any way lets move on to my card. Of course, it is to be entered into some challenges. And the first is a sketch at Creative Card Crew.

Well, what do you think. I love it. But a little about the card. As you can see I used Tilda opening a present. The place to buy Magnolia stamps is the fabulous Magnolia-licious Online Store Diana is wonderful and you will get great customer service. Stop by and check out what she has to offer. I received this as a gift and it did not have a name on the package. So, if you know exactly what she is called I would love to have that information. I used my copics to color her. I used some of my new techniques to do the skin tone. I like the way it turned out. The copics used were E00, E000, E11, other colors used were E53, E51, RV14, RV02, R02, R11, R81 and my spica glitter pens pink and sand. The cake was done with the same colors of pink and the strawberrys were gone over with the garnet spica pen. The card base is bazzill and the pink polka dot paper is from my stash. The flowers are Prima roses, I cut the leaves with a Martha Stewart punch.  I embossed the circle with the happy birthday folder from Cuttlebug. The ribbons are from my stash. The tag is from my scrapbook stash. The bling, well you get the idea. The stamps used for the sentiment comes from a set that I bought on clearance at Michaels. There were 8 different birthday stamps for $6.99 down from $15.99. The butterflies were punched with a small punch that I paid a dollar for.

I am entering this card into the following challenges.
Just Magnolia One for the girls
Pixie Dust Studios Cut it out
Stamp Something Celebrate something
Opus-Gluei Fit to be tied (make something with ribbon)
Flutter by Wednesday Butterfly, angel, fairy

Well that it is. I hope you like my card.

Tellen's Challenge #17 Use a Tag on your project

Good morning, I can't believe that anotherWednesday has rolled around so soon. Does it feel like time is flying by us really fast? But, never the less, if it is Wednesday then it must be time for another Tellen's Place challenge. This week it's tags. You can make a set of tags as some of the DIVAs have done or like me, you can add a tag to your card. My card is to welcome a new little girl into the world.

The sketch is from Papertake Weekly, but it was over yesterday.  Maybe it will fit into the challenge at Secret Crafters 3 embellishments, 2 papers, 1 image. The image is from Tellen's Place Designs, Terry offers lots of choices. Don't forget to go by and check out the Tellen's Place Divas, you will be really surprised at the great talent on this team. I colored this image with my copics.  E13, E11, R83, RV04, RV11, R81, E25 and my spica pink glitter pen. The DP paper is from Hobby Lobby, the pink that I embossed is from my scrap pile. The baby folder from Cuttlebug. the roses are from my stash. The die cut is from a stash that I won last year and the ribbon is from my stash. Well, that is it. I hope you like my card.

Khaki, Aqua, Brown and Cream

I can't believe I have finished a card on Tuesday. But, I did.  And it has some of my favorite colors in it. Also, you must know that if I am making cards on Tuesday it has got to be for a challenge or several challenges. Oh Yeah!!! First up is the sketch. It is from Sketch and Stash Challenge Blog

Colour Create Khaki, Aqua, Brown and Cream
Crafty Hos' Challenge Blog Shade of blue and neutral
Sophisticat Challenge Blue, Brown and cream
Papertake Weekly Challenge Shiny, Sparkly and Special

I think that my card can handle each of these challenges so lets get to it. Here is my card.

I thought getting better lamps would make a difference in my pictures. I used to ott lights to light this, but it still looks dark to me. Well, as you can see I used Tilda with ice cream for my image. I colored it with my copics. and have had it sitting on my desk for weeks. But, I am sure that most of you can tell that all I used were my earth tones except for the hair and for that I useW3 and W5. My papers are Bazzill and the cream paper  is just something from my stash. On the ice cream I used R11 and some glossy accents. The bling is from my stash as are the flowers. The tag is from Spellbinders fancy tags. I embossed some of the paper with the swirls folder and my Cuttlebug.
