STITCHES STITCHES STITCHES

Happy Saturday, I am back with another card. But, boy have I had a busy day. I got up early and was headed to the Walmart to pick up a few things for the house and my car would not start, I mean all I got was click, click click. Now this is a bother. I thought it was the battery. I called my roadside service they sent out the tow truck and he got me going.  Since I bought the battery at Walmarts it was a good thing that is where I was headed. Well, I got the battery tested and it is not the battery. The young man said he thought it was the starter. I was really praying that wasn't it. I knew the sound of that click click click. I had heard it before. Now I have got to set up an appointment with the mechanic. I have really been trying to stay out of his shop. But, the call must be made.

Let's move on to something that is much more fun than my car problems. How about my new card. I have used a Wags N' Whiskers image (He loves Me) and their challenge is to use stitches. The sketch is Papertake Weekly

I have been practicing making bows, I still have a long way to go.  The color combo is a challenge at Colour Create

This was their color inspiration picture. My cards colors pick these up. The DP papers are from Basic Grey their challenge is to have stitches.
Fab & Funky Buttons and Bows
Rosie D's Challenge All creatures great and small
Alphabet Challenge N is for Nature
Simon Says Stamp Going dotty
Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog Lazy Hazy Days of Summer
Kah-Wink-E-Dink Digi Stamps Anything goes (as long as its cool)

My card is colored with copics (of course) E09, E31, E33, 341, E25, E42, E53, G82, G17, W3, W5, W7, YR65, YR14, Y38 and the peach spica pen. The DP is Basic Grey green at heart. The card stock is Bazzill. I used my little pixie sewing machine to sew the stitches. I am still practicing with this. But, the Pixie is really more convenient than my regular machine. And I don't have to keep moving it. The ribbon and buttons are from my stash. This is it for today. I think it is time to go shopping online.

I did make it to the scrapbook store (My Scrapbook Mania in Bessemer, AL). I drove 45 miles for  Copics. I did get 2 stamps that were on sale for 50% off. And I did stop off at a couple of other stores in the area, although I did not buy anything else. I do like to look sometime.

I hope that you like my card and I would love to hear from you.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY 2

Wow, here it is Friday night and I have a new card to post. I am really on the ball this week. What can I say, it is almost 100 degrees outside and my body can not stand to much of those temperatures. So it is easier to get everything done and stay inside the rest of the time. I worked this morning and got off about 1 pm, ran some errands, stopped at Hobby Lobby for some paper that is 50% off, tried to pick up a sandwich at Quizno's (but it was closed along with 2 other restaurants in the same strip mall). I came home made some lunch instead and got to work. Here is the results.

The sketch is from Sunday Sketch and Stamp:

I made a few additions to the sketch, but I think that is allowed.

The image is from Mo's Digital 2 Christmas in July
Pixie Dust Studio a color challenge (Navy, grey/silver, ivory/white)
Tuesday Taggers Christmas in July
Stamptacular Sunday Christmas in July
Stamp Something Christmas in July
Cute Card Thursday Texting, the bigger the better
Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge Blog Animals (my doggie should count)
Our Creative Corner Christmas in July

Now, I will tell you a little about this card. It was colored with my copics, C1, E31, E33, E53, E50, E09, G 17, G09, ROO, R20, W3, W5. Spica glitter pens, pink, baby blue, mint and garnet. The card stock is from Hobby Lobby, the Paper Studio, I also used handmade papers from the Paper Studio. I love the look of those papers. (See, I bet you did not think I could use any thing except Bazzill). The sentiment is a $1 stamp from Michaels, there were 4 different sayings I used 2 together. The bling is from my stash. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss my first layer with the snowflake folder. I used crystal stickles on the snowflakes. The large snowflake was cut with a Martha Stewart punch, which was bought at michaels in the clearance bin for $3.98. The small snowflake is from my stash. I cut the sentiment and its mat with my Spellbinders Nestibliliies. Also, the mat under the image was cut with the scalloped square Nestibilities.  I love these items. And after watching the interviews that Gina K did at the CHA with employees of Spellbinders, Basic Grey, Cuttlebug, I can't wait for the new items to hit the stores. I have got to really start saving some money, so that I will be able to buy some new supplies. She also interview Diana Crick it was great. You should go and check it out. I love the way that this card turned out and hope that you like it

VINTAGE TILDA

Happy Sunday all, I am back with another card. This one is Vintage. My very first vintage card. I really did not have a clue how to go about this. But, I talked to a friend and she walked me through the types of papers to use. She said that I should use muted colors and things that look antique/old. The lace is from a goodie bag that she gave me a few months ago.  The papers are some that my daughter bought for me last year when the Michaels in her area closed down and they clearanced out everything I don't remember who made it but it worked well. The whole pad was sort of vintage.  I colored the Tilda image with my Copics; R00, E000, E31, E13, E51. The best place to buy Magnolia stamps is The Magnolia-licious Online Store.
The flowers are from Recollections at Michaels. The leaves were punched with a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is stamped on one of the fancy tags from Spellbinders. The card base is Bazzill. (have you noticed that I love this paper). The pearls are from Martha Stewart and were bought when Michaels clearanced out over half of her products earlier this year. The stitching was done with my new Pixie Craft Sewing Machine.

Now here is my card. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers.

The Just Magnolia challenge is Vintage. I think that my card is just that.
Raise the Bar Distressed, torn, ripped or broken (I used sandpaper on the edges of the papers)
Clearly I Stamp Gratitude
Magnolia Stamp Lovers paper piecing

Well, that is it for this card. I hope that you like it. I did enjoy making it and will try again to do vintage.

TELLEN'S PLACE SHOW US YOUR WORK SPACE

Hello my blogger friends. It is so good to be able to come out and play whenever I want to. I will never take having a computer for granted again. My design team has been on vacation for the summer. But, Terry is still out there working on the blog and getting things together for when we return in September. This week she posted pictures of her work space and thought we might like to do the same. If you get a change go over to Tellen's Place and get a look at some other work spaces. I am fortunate enough to have a whole room to myself, but then I do live alone. Well take a look and let me know what you think.

Well, this is my computer desk, where I spend all the time blog hopping. As you can see, I bought the Pixie Craft machine. I got it at Big Lots for $30. For those of you that thought it did not have a light it does, and the foot pedal works just fine. Plus unlike my regular machine, I can leave this on the desk and it is not in the way. And if I need to move it, it fits on one of the shelves below.

This desk is where all of the wonderful cards are made, as you can see my Cuttlebug and Cricut have there own space. Underneath the desk is used for storage. The book case on the left wholes paper and other supplies.

The bookcase on the right holds books and genealogy research and photo albums. My Tripod stays out all the time. I am still learning to work with it. Sunday's paper is on the floor waiting for me to finish with it. Across from this space I have a recliner where I sit to think and take a nap.

This shoe holder has lots of bling and flowers and small punches and makes it very easy to get to these things. Plus, I know what I've got because I can see it. Not like when it was in storage boxes. I am looking for more of them. But, they are not easy to find or they cost way to much money. Would love to get 2 more of them.

My Copics and other pens and tools. I keep them on a foot stool next to the desk and they are always on hand and not on the desk taking up precious space. The bag was bought at Tuesday Mornings here in town. and it is perfect for this use. Plus it gives me lots more space for lots more Copics. Did I tell you that Hobby Lobby only has 1 more pen that I don't own. Once I buy it I will have to start buying them online.
Well this is my office, let me know what you think.
I am always looking for ways to get better organized.

Cute, Chocolate and Mint

Happy Saturday. Can you believe that it has taken me all day to come up with an idea for this card. I think I have spent to much time out in the 98 to 100 degree heat here in the south. I am so looking forward to the fall and some cool weather. The problem with the heat here is that once it hits 90 it never goes away. We have been having this type of weather for months. Oh well, what are you going to do.

You know how I like challenges and you probably know how much I love Mo's Digital images and do you have any idea how much I love chocolate and mint. Well, this card puts all of these things together. But, first lets start with the sketch. It is from The Pixie Cottage their challenge is to use the sketch and or 2 stamps. I took that to mean a sentiment with an image or 2 images.  I chose to use a Mo's Digital Image one of the terrible twos. I love these images. But, the challenge was paper piecing. So, I made 3 copies of the image and layered them together to give it more dimension. I think I will show my card here.

I thought that these two stamps go together so well.

I think that the layering will be considered paper piecing. I am not sure why my brown/chocolate papers always look black. At least the greens look green. I colored the image with my copics. G21, G12, G00, Y02, Y11, E31, E33, E21, E09, E25. I used my spica glitter pens in chocolate on th sentiment and yellow and mint on the image. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the paper. The card stocks are all Bazzill. The sentiment stamp was bought at Hobby Lobby on the clearance rack. I paid $1.49 for it. the brads are from Recollections and have been in my stash for over a year. The ribbon is from my stash. The sparkly flower is from Prima I think it is the spring mix. The flower beneath it is a paper flower was white, and I bought it at Michaels and I paid $.99 for the pack. I then colored it with G21. Well, I guess that it is about the card. Now for the other challenges that I am putting it in.

SUMMER TIME MEANS VACATIONS

Wow, I am back once again with another card. I did not think that I would make it. When I was here earlier, I failed to mention that I had attended a Copics class yesterday. It was held at the closest scrapbook store. When I say closest. I mean the only true scrapbook store in my area. It is located about 45 miles from here. The class was taught by Christine who is on the Design team for Simon Says Stamp. She is also on the design team for Scrapbook Mania. I learned some things that I didn't know. And it helped me to see where I was doing some things not quite correctly. It was interesting and made for a nice outing. My next goal is to become a certified Copics user.

Now to my card. I used three stamps on this card. one is the background stamp which is from The Pixie Cottage.  It is the tree stump with the bench and flowers. It is one of the stamps that I won from the Pixie Cottage right before my computer died. The second stamp is from Magnolia, it is the Tilda eating an icecream. My favorite Magnolia store is Magnolia-Licious Online Store it is owned and run by the wonderful Diana Crick. Stop by and see her. The customer service is great. The third stamp is the sentiment and it is from the $1 bin at Michaels. The sketch is from Just Magnolia.

I colored my card with my Copics. E13, E31, E29, E29, E57, E53, B21, B32, G17, G07, G21, G24, R20, R81, R83, YO4,  W3, W5, W7. I used my spica glitter pens to give a little sparkle to the flowers. I colored in the sky and grass to make it more like a scene. I used small pop dots to pop Tilda up and make it more three dimensional. The roses are from Prima. I used the Martha Stewart lace punch I like this one because it pucnches on both sides of the paper. And it is simple to use. Some of her punches, although they are pretty. You have to work to hard to use them. The card stock is Bazzill and the other DP papers are a mixture of Basic Grey. The pastel stripe I am not sure where that came from. I also, used the Martha Stewart leaf punch. The butterfly stamp is one of my $1 stamps. I am entering this card into several challenges and they are:
Alphabet Challenge L is for lace
Flutter by Wednesday Fairies, Angels or Butterflies
Crafty Anns Challenge ASir Richarad Song (Summer Holiday)
Secret Crafter Summer Holiday
Sweet Stampin Challenge They had an inspiration photo. I pulled my colors from there
Crafty Card Makers Photo inspiration (green blue yellow)

Well I guess that is it for tonight. I hope that you like my card. And I would love to hear from you. Have a good and productive week. I will see you back here soon.
