HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

THIS CARD WAS A WINNER AT COLOUR CREATE CHALLENGE BLOG --- CHALLENGE #53 --- RED - GOLD - CREAM OR WHITE.

I WON-I WON-I WON-I WON

Well, the weekend is almost over and finally I have something to post. It is not like I haven't been working, because I have. I finished off two card orders that I need to deliver tomorrow. One was for 36 notecards, matching of course. I love my cricut and cuttlebug. There was embossing and her monogram of each. And let us not forget my xyron 250. This thing has been sitting in my office for over a year and I bet I have not used it more than twice before today. And for over six months I have been gluing all the initials by hand. 3 per card. What was I thinking (I wasn't thinking) otherwise I would have been using the xyron. How many of you, buy different tools and then don't use them? How many different tools do you have that have never been used? Tomorrow I am going through all of my stuff to see just what I own and I am going to start using it and that means I have to get it out of the drawers and boxes.

Oh well on to my card. A couple of weeks ago when I was in Chicago, I visited with my best friend and she mentioned to me that she had just had an anniversary the day before. My mouth fell open. I could not believe that I had forgotten. I was the matron of honor in their wedding. The next thing she said was, "I did not get you card, you always send us a card". She was right. I have never forgotten her anniversary in 9 years. So my excuse was that I had been busy, but it would be in the mail soon. well her and her husbands birthdays are in 2 weeks. So, I have 2 more cards to get ready for the mail. But, I finished the anniversary card and here it is.
The card is red gold and cream. The image is from Digital Doodling by Wendy. I love her images and this silhouette was just perfect. My friends have been happily married for 10 years. They are one of the few couples that I know who actually work together to make it work. You don't have one pulling this way and the other pulling the other. There are days that I wish I had what they have. The sentiment is from a Penny Black Christmas stamp set that I bought at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago for less that $4. there are a total of 5 stamps included. So it was a deal. The papers were all from my scrap file. I have way to much paper in my scraps. So I am working to use some of it. The roses are from a goodie bag that a really good friend gave me months ago, I don't think that I will ever get to the bottom of the bag. The bling is from my stash. I punched the leaves with a Martha Stewart punch. I think that they will like it. I am going to do the inside of the card before I mail it.

There are a few challenges that I would like to enter this card into. The first is the sketch. It is from Secret Crafter.

I changed the shapes but, the sketch is still there.
Fussy and Friday Christmas colors (I think red and gold fit)
Colour Create inspiration (Red gold, cream or white)
Order of the Opus Gluei  Alphabet (letters/words)

Well, This is all for this post. I hope that you like it and I will be back later with one more project.

You do not have to use a Tellen's Place image, but if you do, you get extra points in the voting process. And please only one entry person. Now on to my card.

My card uses the Tellen's image (Edward) the card was made for a friends young son, who is into golf. The information that I received after the party was that he loved the card and he would not stop showing it off to everyone.

All images were colored with my copics E31, E33, E25, E50, E51, E53, G20, G21, G82, B21, B24, B05, W3, W5, W7. The stickers wer bought for the occasion at Hobby Lobby. I think they are by Jolie. The stamp is from my stash. and the Golf tag is made by me on the computer. The stamp on the front of the card is from a set that I bought on clearance at Michaels. All of the packaging is gone so I don't remember who made it. The birthday packages were stamped and colored with my spica glitter pens. I hope that you like my card and will stop by again soon. Don't forget to go by Tellen's Place and check out the new look and the DIVAS.

Flower Garden

Ok, I am back with one more card. Boy, did I have a very busy weekend. I loved every minute of it. I completed a total of 5 cards and that is a record for me. I took them to work and one of my co-workers decided she wanted me to design a card for a friend of hers. How cool is that. So that is my project for the week to come up with a card to make some one feel better. But, now I want  to keep this post short. So, on to the card.

The image that I have used is a  Gorjuss - she is the Purrfect friend comes with a cat. This is a Sugar Nellie Stamp. It was colored with my copics. I tried a new skin combination E00, E11, E13, E15, E25, R83, R81, R85, Y11, Y21, YG63, YG25, YG95, YG03. The paper is Basic Grey, the lemonade pad. I used paper peicing, I stamped 2 images and one was on the flowered paper. The second stamp (flowers) is from Stampenous. The Primas, they were a light pink and I used R85 to make them darker. The twine is from Hobby Lobby (I was so glad that they had small packages and different colors). Once again I used my new distressing tool from Tim Holtz, I love that thing.  My card base is Bazzill. There are only a few challenges that I want to enter this into. The first is Basic Grey Challenges (fortnightly) the challenge is paper piecing. They are also having a DT call. And I would love to design for them. So, I am going to give it a shot. The next challenge is Sir Stampalot Challenge the challenge is distressing. I know, I entered my last card and got a message that I had to many challenges to qualify for the prize, but I could try again. Maybe this time I got it right. You can't have more than six challenges to qualify. The next challenge is Our Creative Corner Sketch Weekly

That is it for challenges and I am coming to the end of my post. I hope that you like my card and I would love to hear from you.

DISTRESSED - VINTAGE - SHABBY - OLD - WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE

I  have an announcement. TELLEN' PLACE DESIGNS will be back on September 10, 2010 with our first challenge after summer vacation. Please stop by and check us out. Our challenges are moving from Wednesday to Friday. And instead of being every week. We are now going to be held every other Friday. But, between challenges there will be lots going on.

Have you ever visited a challenge blog and think I have to enter a challenge here. But, you have to use images from that particular company. And you don't have any. Or you only have one that you have already used several times. Well that is how it has been for me. I have wanted to enter the challenges at Penny Black Saturday Challenge or Penny Black @ Alsorts Challenge. I did not have the images to do this. I have a friend who owns stamps that go on forever and she had some Penny Black stamps that she loaned me. Some she has had for years. Well, I can finally enter the challenge at Penny Black at Allsorts a monthly challenge. This month it is Punches.

My image was colored with copics E21, E31, E33, E25, E53, G20, G21, G24, G09, G40, YG63, Y02, Y04. The punch used was a $1 flower punch that has been in my stash for ages. The 2 DP papers is from the Wisteria pad by Basic Grey. The card stock is from the scrap pile. I have got to use more scraps or I am going to run out of space to keep it. I used my new set of Label 10 to cut the image and back ground (embossed  with Cuttlebug and cuttlebug embossing folder?). I found this wonderful little tool by Tim Holtz that is used to distress the paper. I love this thing. This is the first time  that I have tried to distress the paper that I actuall y like the result. I had planned to take a picture of it. But, I forgot. The next time I post a card I will show the tool. Did I say that I love it. I bought it at Hobby Lobby for $4.99. But, I think it is worth every penny.  I used my coupon on something else that day. The ink used on the edges of the papers was Dew Drop Versa magic Chalk ink, spanish olive. I also stamped the sentiment in this. I colored the white paper flowers with copics. I punched the center flower with the $1 punch and the brads are from my stash. The charm is also from the stash. I used the green and yellow spica glitter pen on the outfit and flower but not to much. I think this card turned out really good. And I am very happy with the skin tone. The sketch is from Totally Gorjuss:

There are several challenges besides the 2 mentioned.
Stamptacular Sunday Distress It
Sir Stanpalot Challenge All Distressed (monthly)
Stampin' for the Weekend Shabby or Vintage
Creatalicious Challenges Vintage (monthly)
Stamp Something Something Cute
Crafty Catz 3-2-1 (3 embellishments, 2 papers (I hope they meant DP) and 1 image
ABC challenge C is for Charm
Order of  the Opus Gluei Picture inspiration
The Shabby Tea Room Old meets New (for me the old is the papers and embellishments, the new is the stamped image which my friend found for me).
Pile it On Layers (I think this fits)

Well, I guess that is all for now. I hope to have one more post before it is time to go back to work on Tuesday. I hope that you enjoy this card. I really enjoyed making it.

WHITE AND BLUE TILDA

Here it is Saturday night and I am just getting my first card posted. I have been so tired all week since my trip to Chicago that I decided that since we would be having a 3 day week-end, that I would try to relax and spend the day doing things around the house. I did go out early and get a few groceries. But, that was my only errand today. But, tomorrow I will be going to Michaels, they have a 50% coupon that is only good tomorrow and Monday. I need adhesive and I want to try that new ATG adhesive I have been hearing so much about.

My card tonight showcases Party Tilda, she was bought at the  Magnolia-licious Online Store, Diana is great and so is the service. I don't know if she still has this in stock. I have had Party Tilda for so long and this is the first time that I have inked her up. I think she will probably become one of my favorites. She is just so cute. But, I was just over at the store and see that Diana has if you buy over $60 worth of product you can get free shipping and a special surprise. I really need to do some shopping there are a couple of new Tilda's that I would love to have. Go on by and check the store out. You won't regret it.

My image was colored with copics BG45, E31, E33, E21, E25, E53, blue spica glitter pen, I used clear rock candy distress stickles for the wings and some of the stars. I used the blender pen to lighten the dress. I am short on BG markers. But, plan to rectify that problem really soon. All of the paper is from my scrap file. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss and to cut the circles with my Spellbinders (scalloped circle and large circle). I also used one of the Spellbinders fancy tags. The white roses are from Recollections (boutique fleur). The sketch that I used is from Pricilla Styles Midnight Madness: Pricilla always offers two choices for sketches. You can use one (fancy) or (Plain) I chose the fancy one. I do like to add the bling and stuff.

There are several challenges involved here. Two of  them involve lots of white paper. and only a little bit of color. So only my bling, image and tag are colored.
The Pink Elephant Mostly white (2 week challenge)
Crafty Creations White plus 1
Whoopsi Daisy Pile on the flowers (Monthly challenge)
Just Magnolia (special technique..cracked glass) or Anything goes. I chose the anything goes, I just did not have time to do the cracked glass effect. Although I do love it.
Crafty Calender Blue and Flowers (monthly challenge)
Crafty Card Maker Glitter and Sparkle (2 weeks)
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Happy Birthday
Creative Cottage Challenge Celebration
The Craft Den Anything Goes Challenge Say it with Flowers
Wild Orchid Challenge Make it Sparkle
A Crafty Little Place Anything Goes
Really Reasonable Ribbons Ramblings Flowers

Well, I guess that is all for now, I will be back soon with my next creation. While I was sitting around relaxing I did get a little coloring done. So, I have more images ready to go. I hope you enjoy this and would love to hear from you.

TILDA GOES BACK TO SCHOOL

Hi all, I am back from my mini vacation to Chicago. It was all about family, so I did not get to do a lot of sight seeing. But, I did get to go to Archivers, the ultimate scrapbook store. After getting picked up at the airport. My daughters friend took me to the Archivers store in Orland Park, Il.  My granddaughter said that when I walked in the door, I stopped, inhaled and said "I am in scrapbook heaven". All I could think was that I did not have enough time to look at everything. I had a couple of coupons because I get their emails. The closest store to me is in Georgia, so I only get there a couple of times a year. But, when I found out that there was one 30 minutes from where my daughter lives. I knew that was going to be one of my places to go. They had copics for $5.99 each. I picked up 3 colors that I did not have. They had a lot of the things that I have wanted to buy, but which I could not get the brands here in town. The only way to get them was to order them online. So I have been holding off on ordering until after my trip and I am glad that I did. I got Hero stamps, Basic Grey 6x6 pads and lots more. But, since I have to get ready for work, I don't have time to go into everything. Suffice it to say I had a wonderful time after my second trip to the store on Sunday. My bags coming back were much heavier than when I left.

Now to my card. I made this card (which is only a card front to use on the scrapbook page of one of my granddaughers. It is a back to school card. Even though I was not going to make one, there were so many challenges that I just could not resist. Tilda is my back to school girl. The best place to buy Magnolia Stamps is the Magnolia-licious Online line store, I am sure that if Diana does not have it, she can probably order it.  I colored Tilda with my copics, E11, E15, E13, 321, E25, E51, B21, B24, R24, R27, Y04, AND Y08. The papers are all from the scrap pile, leftover from other projects. The stickers are all from my scrapbook stash, bought to use in scrapbooks for my granddaughters. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers:

This card will be entered into the following challenges.

Stamp Something Back to School
Fussy N'Fancy Friday Back to School
Simple Doodles Back to School
Crafty Hos ' Use your school supplies
Paper Players Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew Back to School

Ok, this should be all, I hope you enjoy this card. It was lots of fun to make. I would love to hear what you think.
