TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

I am so glad that Monday is over. This was a very busy day, with lots going on at work, so much so that I could not get all of it done.

I am glad to get another one of my scrabook pages posted. The pictures used are from Christmas 2008. Did I tell you that I am way behind in my scrapbooking. Well, I am. although I did get 7 pages done over the weekend. I hope to get some more done soon. The title was cute with my Cricut on glitter paper from Walmart.

The papers are from the Paper Studio. the embellishments are from my stash and so is the ribbon. The sketch is from Crazy 4 Challenges

A LOOK AT MY CHRISTMAS TREE AND A NEW BLOG AWARD

Happy Sunday, I just stopped by to make this short post. I almost forgot all about the blog award that I received from a young lady who visited my blog and decided that she liked it. Her name is Starla and her blog is "You could be Wishing on a Star" Stop by and visit her. She is a fairly new blogger but she has done some lovely cards. The blog award is the Sylish blogger award. I thought that was so cool.

OK, it says that I should tell eight things about my self. And then pass it on to eight stylish bloggers.
1. I have almost saved all of the money for the new canon camera that I have been wanting.
2. I love Christmas, but this is the first time in several years that I have had a tree of any kind.
3. I hate being cold, and I thought moving to the south would alleviate that problem. It didn't. the last two years have been the coldest since I moved here.
4. I love blogging. I did not think that I would last this long.
5. I love gadgets and I am looking forward adding a few more to my collections.
6. I have a birthday coming up soon and would love to give myself a party.
7. I hate driving, but it is the only way to get around without waiting around for someone to take me.
8. This is the worst time of year for missing my family....

The following blogs will receive the Award

4. You Inspire Me, Essence Vibez
5. Jazzy Paper Designs Tenia Nelson
8.

This is my Christmas Tree, I did not feel up to pulling all of the decorations out of storage (brand new, bought at the end of the year sales last year) So I went to Hobby Lobby's 50% off sale last week and bought this table top tree and all of the decorations.

This is a close up view of the ornaments and the lovely tree skirt.
This is the wreath, that I hung on the outside of my apartment door.

I collect Santa Clauses, so this one I just fell in love with. I call him my Father Christmas. I was in MIchaels today and saw one that I just have to have. I hope he doesn't sale out before the after Christmas sales start. Well, these are my decorations, I hope you enjoyed them.

A VISIT WITH SANTA CLAUSE

Hi all, just a short post for today. I have been kind of sad today, yesterday I lost a very special person in my life. She has been a valuable influence on my life for all of my life. And her absence will be felt for many years to come. I was not very creative today and spent some time going through old photos remembering happy times. So, while I did not make any cards, I did do some scrapbooking and my project today is of a picture of me with Santa Clause.

The picture was taken at Walmart last year. I was walking through the store doing my shopping and I guess Santa was having a slow day. They asked me if I wanted to take a picture with Santa and I agreed. When I told my granddaugthers that I had taken a photo with Santa, they got such a kick out of that. The DP paper is from The Paper Studio. The paper pieced Santa is from Kayla Kreations. The paper with the swiss dots is Bazzill. I cut the title with my Cricut and the snowflakes were punched with a Martha Stewart punch and glitter paper from Walmart was used for both. And since I am here, I guess I might as well enter this page into a couple of challenges.

JOY TO THE WORLD

Wow, Monday is almost over and what a busy day it was. Busy at work. After work activity. Finished that at 7 pm and then to Hobby Lobby to buy a small Christmas tree and decorations. Hobby Lobby had all of their Christmas decorations 50% off. I got the cutestes little tabletop tree for 4 bucks. Once I get it decorated I will post some pictures of. I decided that since I was going to be doing some visiting during the Holidays that it was not worth the effort to pull out the big tree and everything that goes with it. So I bought some things to decorate my wreath and a really cute santa for another table top and I will probably string some lights around the patio.  But, now I want to post a new set of cards that I started this morning just because I loved the paper and there are still so many snow or holiday challenges around. I could not resist. These cards were so easy to put together, I wish I had thought of them sooner.

The DP papers are from a pad that I bought at Tuesday Mornings, I wish that I had bought two of them. It is called Jack Frost Specialty Collection from Momento. There are only 12 sheets of paper, 2 sheets per design. They are just gorgeous. Plus the pad only cost $2.99. Some of the papers are foil, some are embossed already. I used the snowflake folder from cuttlebug and the sentiment is from Penny Black Christmas set that I bought on clearance at Hobby Lobby several months ago. The sketch is from Inktegrity  Design Team Challenge

A PURPLE BIRTHDAY WISH

Happy Sunday everybody. Finally I have finished my Christmas cards and they are ready to address and mail. And that is why I am just finishing my first card for posting. I think that I have mentioned before that I am in a birthday club, well I only have a few more cards to make and this is one of them. Her choice of colors were purples so that was right up my alley. The image  is from Kenny K. Krafty Girlz the challenge is Monochromatic. I used a freebie that I got from Kenny K. a few weeks ago. She's called Holla Back Girl. The 2 DP are digital paper from Gina K at Stamp TV. They were freebies also. One is deep plum, although it did not print that way and the other is like embossed leaves although you can't see that with all the layers. I have to work on my color output. The card stock is from The Paper Studio. the image is colored with copics E00, E09, E11, E13, E25, W1, W3, W5, V01, V04, V12, spica glitter pens; lilac, lavender and gold. The punch is Martha Stewart. The flowers are Petaloo. The embossing folder is from the new Art Deco set by Cutlebug. I got it recently at Hobby Lobby with a 40% coupon. The ribbon is from my stash as is the bling. The sentiment is from a clear stamp set.

Well, that is it for this card and yes there are more challenges.

HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY

Good morning, I almost did not get out of bed this morning, I stuck my head out from under the covers and got a blast of cold air. I just wanted stay where it was nice and toasty. But, I remembered that I wanted to get this card posted before leaving for work and I had to brave the cold and turn on the heat. So, here I am. My card today was by request from a co-worker for another co-worker who is turning 60 the day after Christmas. She wanted the card to be special and to incorporate things that 59 year old liked to do. Well, she is a hunter and loves motorcycles. Yeah, she is a biker chick. So I had plenty of time to think about this card and finally had an idea. Why don't I show the card now and then tell you about it. I really need to keep this short.

I love Bugaboo Stamps, Jodie is a wonderful artist and Stella is one of my favorite characters. And this just fit so well, with what I needed. The image is colored with copics E00, E11, E50, E31, E25, E09, E18, R24, R27, spica glitter pens, red, orange, gold and silver.

The card stock is Bazzill, the hounds tooth ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, it was used because the birthday girl is a huge University of Alabama fan and the hounds tooth is one of their symbols (why doesn't that word look right spelled that way?) The sheer ribbon on the envelope is from my stash. The envelope is made from Bazzill card stock also. The DP with the numbers is from a DCWV black and white pack that has been on my shelf for a long time and I have never used any paper out of it before.. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the layer under Stella with the swirl folder. The paper on the inside of the card is from Tuesday Morning. I don't remember who makes, but I have been hoarding it for a long time. I love the paper was not able to get any more. Then I go and mess of a couple of sheets trying to make and envelope. You know I will still be using what is left.

The inside side of the card I made up the sentiment at top of left page. The hunting gear is from Jolie, I typed the labels on the computer and the motorcycle set is from ?? I will have to check because I through away the packaging. The birthday sentiments are from a $1 set of stickers that I bought in the clearance isle at Hobby Lobby last week. Well, that is it for the card. And I can tell you that every one who has seen it, loved it.  And you know now there will be challenges.
