GUEST DESIGNER AT DIGITAL TWO FOR TUESDAY

I was recently offered an opportunity to do a Guest designer spot at Digital Two for Tuesday a wonderful vintage blog that offers lots of free and gorgeous images. Cora Harkin is the owner and you should really stop by for a visit. I know that you will find at least a few images that you can't resist.

My technique this week is DISTRESS RESIST. In my search to find out how to do this. There are several different styles. First I used versmark to stamp my tree branches/leaves and covered that area with clear embossing powder, then used the heat gun to emboss it. After that was done I used Tim Holtz distress inks wild honey and faded jeans with a sponge applicator to cover the embossed areas. Using a piece of paper towel I wiped off the excess ink and the emblossing comes through beautifully.

I colored this beautiful bird with my copics E31, G24, R22, Y13, Y11, Y17. the background stamp is from Studio G. the sentiment is from the $1 bin at Michaels and the card stock is from my scrap file. I used a Martha Stewart corner punch that I recently purchased and used the faded jeans ink around the edges of the image. I really like how this card turned out and can't wait to send it to a friend who lives out of town.

A SPOOKY GOOD TIME AT DIGITAL TWO FOR TUESDAY

Hi all, I have just arrived at my destination. (BEACH TRIP WITH THE GIRLS), so I am very late getting this post up. But, I just wanted to take a minute to get this posted and to tell you to go on over to Digital Two for Tuesday

I have made more Halloween items this year than I normally do. This week it is for a spot over at Digital Two for Tuesday. Where one of my projects is being featured this week. Cora Harkin the owner of this wonderful blog posted a few months ago that she was looking for some guest designers and I signed up. This is my first card using one of her vintage Halloween images.  She offers so many free image I know that you will find something that you like.

I think that the little girl dressed as a pumpkin is just so cute. I colored the image with my copics E11, E13, E33, E31, E53, E57, E59, V15, V17, V25, W3, W5, W7, YR04, YR02, Y38, YG63, G12. I used my sukura glitter pens on the word Halloween. The background paper is from the Martha Stewart 5x7 pad. the card stock is Bazzill the ghost is from my stash and so are the spiders, the word stamps are from a Paper Studio set from 2010.

HALLOWEEN FUN

Good morning, life around here is very hectic at the moment. I am already dressed and ready to head out in about 40 minutes. I have to go an visit a friend who is here for a funeral. It is a sad time but, it will be really good to see my friend for it has been almost 2 years since the last time. I am still working on my projects for the craft show on November 3rd. My it is right around the corner. And our beach trip is coming up next week and I am no where near ready for either. I will be working double time once I get back home. And I still have all of the house work and grocery shopping to get done. I really need a personal assistant to work some magic.

But, today I have a new card and it is a Halloween card. I was going through my digital images recently and came across this one. It was drawn by a wonderful artist (Markus) who was responsible for all of the Tellen's Place Design images. When I was on the Tellen's Place design team, Markus drew likeness of all of the DT. this was the second one.

I call her WITCHY ME and I think that she came out great. I colored her using my copics and my favorite colors at that Purple. Over everything but her skin, I used my lilac glitter pen to give her some sparkle. My card base is Bazzill, the lighter purple is Bazzill it is the shiny one. I used my Martha Stewart punch. the DP is from my stash. the ticket sentiments come from different companies and right now I don't have them in front of me.
And you know it has to have a challenge.

GDT @ TAMMY'S SCRAPIN CORNER

That is right, my title says it all. I was chosen to be the Guest Designer at Tammy's Scrapin Corner, I found this blog a few months ago and have really enjoyed playing in the challenges over there. So, I was really pleased to be chosen to to be the Guest Designer for the week. This weeks challenge is Anything Goes.

My project this week is a tag that I made for my scrapbook group. We will be going on our annual retreat in a couple of weeks and I like to commemorate the event. I used a resist technique, I used a text background stamp from Stampabilites and stamped with versamark and then used clear utee to emboss it. Then I went over the whole thing with Tim Holtz distress ink Wild honey. I used the Tim Holtz sewing room die cut and then painted the dress form with a bronze acrylic paint, the tulle and ribbon is from Hobby lobby. the bling is from my stash. I typed the information about the retreat on my computer and the fun in the sun stamp is out of the $1 bin at Michaels. I used glazed pens to color in the fun in the sun stamp. I love the raised effect. It is like it was embossed. I colored the sea horse charm with copic marker #77. The ribbon is from my stash. The tag is 4 1/8 x 8 1/2. I bought them from Ellen Huston online. I really like the size of them. The flowers are Recollections and have been sitting on my shelf since last year. I bought about 8 jars of them when they were clearanced out and I really love them. The corner punches were made with the Corner chompers from We R Memory Keepers I love these because you get to different cuts on each one. This one has art deco and ticket cuts.

This really looks better in person than it does it the photo. But, I do love how it turned out. I will be using mind as the cover page of my beach travel journal for this year. That resist technique is fabulous and I will be using it more. The type of stamp used will determine the results that you get. and the way that you ink the project will also make the looks different. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to go over to Tammy's Scrapin Corner and join in the fun.

THINK PINK

As most of you know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and since I have friends who have had breast cancer it is something that I try to get behind and support in any way that I can. I donate to research and I have done walks to help raise money that way. Breast cancer is a very serious issue in most of our lives. So, this week Brown Sugar Challenge blog is to make an ATC incorporated pink and breast cancer awareness. Since I am in the middle of a million and 1 projects, I was only able to make one.

The image is from (I think) Laurette, I don't have a blog link and I have had the image for a a year or so. It was a freebie. So if anyone has the link, please let me know. I colored the image with copics Rv00, R83, R85 and used a clear glitter pen to go over the design in the bra and the letters of my sentiment. The bling is from my stash and is from K and Company. The paper is Tim Holtz vintage pack. It is a couple of years old and comes in blue, pink and tan/cream. Love this paper.

HEY FRIEND

What a week I have had. Busy at every turn and still not quite ready for the craft show. Time is running down and still there are things that I want to do. So, I will be working through this weekend and next and after that it is what it is. But, right now I have a new card to post and then I must get back to work. My daughter recently called me and said that she needed several cards and would I make them for her. Of course I said yes and one of them was for a friend who is moving out of state.
I decided to use a Tellen's Place image. And though they have closed their doors, I will use the images for ever. The artist is very talented and the images are fantastic.

And since my daughter loves purple, there is lots of purple, even though some of it looks blue in the photo. It is all in different shades of purple.  The image was colored with my copics BV00, BV02, BV000, E11, E13, E15, E09. The flowers were punched with a flower punch from The Paper Studio. I used two different sizes. The sentiment is a $1 stamp from Michaels and it is stamped on a die cut using Spellbinders and the mat behind the image is from the same set. The card stock is bazzill and the DP was found in my scrap file, I think it came from a mat stack by DCWV. The bling is from my stash. Well that is it for this card. So much to do. But, I do have a few challenges to go with it.
