PURPLE ALTERED BOX

Ok, I know that it has been a long time since I posted any of my projects. I have been creating and making some videos to post on YouTube here is my channel. Would love for you to stop by for a visit. This is a recent project that I have altered. It is a wooden box that I bought at Michaels. This is what it looked like when I got it.

This is the finished box. The lace was given to me by a friend and I sprayed it with  dylusions crushed grape spray. the flowers are from several different places, The Paper Studio, Recollections and Wild Orchid Crafts. I made the stick pin and  the bling is Recollections. I first painted by box with Martha Stewart pearl paint. But, that was a little lighter than I wanted. So, I then covered it with Viva Inka Gold metallic rub, violet. I love the richness of the colors. The trim around the bottom is from Tim Holtz and I sprayed it with dylusions crushed grape spray also. The metal corners were rubbed with the Inka gold also.

Underneath the Tim Holtz trim is some grey burlap from the Paper Studio and some glitter ribbon It is really prettier in person.

Well, that is it. I really like how this box turned out and it is a gift for my daughter. You can see the video for this here. Stop on by for a visit.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to do better about posting in the future.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Ok, it has been awhile since I last blogged. Life has been super busy and then there was the car trouble. Who wants to buy a new car, I don't  so I have to keep this one running. Has anyone noticed how life can change in a heart beat? And you are unable to control the change. So what do you do? Well, I try to go with the flow and not get to stressed out about it. I also try to remember that life is precious and you don't want to waste it. So enjoy it all that you can.

Today I have a Christmas project that I am going to share with you. It is a faux toilet tissue roll mini album and instead of using toilet tissue rolls I used 6x6 pieces of bazzill card stock to make the base pages, I used K and Company and My minds eye DP to cover the base pages. and all of the papers came from my scraps except for the card stock. The tags are from my stash, I used a 1" punch to make the tabs on the tags. I used my cinch to bind it and the ribbons are from my stash. The die cuts are all from K and Company. The tags were inked with Tim Holtz distress ink fired brick.

I really love how this turned out and it was very easy to make and did not take very much time at all.

SHABBY CHIC BIRTHDAY CARD

I can't believe how long it has been since I posted a project. There has been so much going on in my life and being sick was a small part of that. Now, I am better but, my energy level is still not back to normal. I have missed blogging and will keep this post short. My project today is a card that I made for my boss' birthday. I used the Tim Holtz shabby chic pad from several years ago. I do love these papers. I also used a stamp from one of the Graphic 45 sets.

The flowers are from Wild orchid Crafts, the bling is recollections and I used a Spellbinders die set. The stamp is from The Paper Studio. I really love how this card turned out.

WOYWW 211

Well, life certainly knows how to shake us up when it wants to. Since the anniversary WOYWW and swap, I have been a little under the weather and unable to do much more than look at my computer, I am now using 2 inhalers and have taken more meds in the last 10 days than I would normally take in a year. I missed work most of last week and finally was able to return on Monday. I hope to be back on track really soon.

I received the ATCs that I got from the swap and here they are. But, first I would like to thank all of the wonderful ladies that swapped with me. I want call all of your names, but when you see your ATC in the photos below you will know who you are.

Heather, thank you for the lovely card and the wonderful keys, I will be using them on a mini album that I am working on. I love all of the fabulous ATCs. Thank you so very much.

LET'S CELEBRATE

Wow, I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted one of my projects. Things around here have been really weird and I have not been feeling well for weeks and because of that I have not been able to focus on crafting.  Now it seems that I am getting better and I felt like putting something on my blog. This card was made months ago and it is a birthday card that I made for my daughter.

The image is one that I won from the "Crafty Purple Frog" The artwork is by Ching-Chou Kuik. I like the images because there is no coloring involved and it makes for a quick card or project. The bling is from my stash and the I used a spellbinder tag and the stamp is from Michaels $1 bin. I used the Cuttlebug swirl embossing folder and the card stock is Recollections.

Hey everybody. It is finally here, the 4th anniversary of "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday". That's right, 4 years of viewing desk from around the world. Making new friends and gathering wonderful crafty ideas from the 4 corners of the world. This is the brain child of the fabulous Mrs. Julia Dunnit over at the Stamping Ground. And this being the 4th anniversary, it is time for the ATC SWAP. Don't forget to show your desk as usual. Link your post to Julia's and put an * behind your name. I have them all ready to in the mail. I have a five more ATCs. So, let me know if you would like to swap. You can send me an email to the address on my side bar. Here is my desk this week.

This is what my ATCs looked like last week.

And here they are now. Hope you like them.

Up close and personal. I do like how they came out.

Now, don't dawdle, head on over to the Stamping Ground and join in the fun. Tell Julia that I sent you.

WOYWW 207

Once again, I have to ask where did the time go. I have accomplished nothing in the last week and my brain is working in overdrive with all of the things that I want to create. But, for now I just am going to show you my desk. Why you might ask? Because it is time for another What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday over at the Stamping Ground with the fabulous Ms. Julia Dunnit as our hostess. It is a time for world travel and a chance to see and get to know lots of creative people. Here is my desk and why don't you go on over to visit and see what I am talking about.

On my desk are lots of pieces for my ATCs for next weeks anniversary swap. You will have to wait to see the finished product. But, there is a film strip from Tim Holtz, lots of little pictures to fit in the film strip and my ATC base. You can see lots of tools for working with and my Kindle fire as I was watching a video while I worked.  So, if any of you ladies would like to swap ATCs with me, please send me an email at the address on my sidebar. I will be happy to swap with you.

This is a closer look at my pieces. Have a good week and I hope to see you again soon.

SHABBY CHIC PENNANT

Wow, I can't believe that it has been a week and I have not done anything creative. I can only be glad that I have quite a few projects finished that I have never shown. The project that I am going to show tonight is a pennant that I made for a friend and she is going to add it to some others to make a banner for her craft room. She loves shabby chic and this is what I came up with.

The papers are Tim Holtz shabby chic pad, and I used 3 layers to make the pennant. The flowers are a variety, some Wild orchid crafts others are prima and still others are recollections. The flat back pearls are from Hobby Lobby.  The bling is recollections. The trim is Tim Holtz and I sprayed it with dylusions spray bubble gum pink. The stamped postcard is from Prima Paris set.

WOYWW 206

Hi all, not much longer and WOYWW will be celebrating their 4th anniversary and there is going to be a ATC swap just like last year. So, go on over and check out the Stamping Ground and the lovely Ms. Julia. She will give all of the pertinent details to the swap. I just love being nosey and checking out all of the wonderful blogs around the world. I working on getting more time to do this. So, if I missed you last week I will surely get around to you this week. I am still not feeling my usual energetic self. But, I am working on it. I will be making about 15 ATC's this year and If you would like to swap with me please let me know and send me your address through the email on my side bar. I love making ATCs and I love to swap them. Well, here is my desk this week. I have not been very creative and have not finished anything but a couple of cards. I started working on an album for one of my new customers. I have only finished about 5 pages. This one is going to be 81/2 x 11, it is for a wedding gift. So, it has to be wonderful. Once I get more of it together I will post a few photos. Here is my desk this week

As you can see there is not much going on. I ran out of my favorite chipboard and had to glue 3 pieces of a thinner chipboard together and that is why the paper pad is on my desk, it is covering the glued chipboard and keeping it flat. The pages to the mini I was working on last week have been punched and are just waiting for me to get a cover made and then comes the fun part. You can see my video camera there on the tripod just waiting for me to get some projects finished and make some videos.  But, that is it for me right now. If you would like to see some of my videos (here is the link). I would love it if you would watch and leave me a comment or become a subscriber.

SHABBY CHIC

Here is a project that I made for a friend and since I haven't posted in a while, I decided that I needed something pretty. I don't do Shabby Chic often even though I like the look of it. But, this is what she likes so here it is.

The papers are from a really old Tim Holtz pad (Shabby Chic),  The images are from a Hampton Arts one of a set of Graphic 45 designs. I stamped them on a Tim Holtz ticket and colored with copics  and then used glossy accents over them. I inked the edges with distress ink. The flowers are from my stash and are from Wild orchid crafts and the bling is from Recollections. I really like how this turned out and will be using the scraps to make another card for my bosses birthday.

THANK YOUR TEACHERS AT TUESDAY THROWDOWN # 145

Good morning, it is Tuesday and time for another fun challenge at Tuesday Throwdown. This weeks challenge is "Thank Your Teachers" and the Sponsor is BUGABOO STAMPS. Jodie Mackrel is the owner and she has created lots of fabulous images.

My project this week is the wonderful little notebook. The DP is from K and Company. It is made using scraps from a mini that I am working on. I used several Spellbinders dies and a junior legal pad. The cover is made with card stock from Gina K. And as you can I see I created a pocket so the I could keep up with small bits of papers. On the front cover I used and image from Bugaboo Stamps and colored it with copics V01, V20, V17, V04, V91, E11, E13, E15. The stamped sentiment is from Michaels $1 bin. I punched it out with a EK success punch. I used a Martha Stewart punch to make a little decorative strip to go under the spellbinders, the corner bling is from Recollections.  I received the butterfly from my friend Terry in a swap that we recently did. I really like how this tuned out and I am going to take it to work and use it on my desk. I did glue to legal pad down. Well that is it for this post, I do have some challenges.
