A LOOK AT MY CHRISTMAS TREE AND A NEW BLOG AWARD

Happy Sunday, I just stopped by to make this short post. I almost forgot all about the blog award that I received from a young lady who visited my blog and decided that she liked it. Her name is Starla and her blog is "You could be Wishing on a Star" Stop by and visit her. She is a fairly new blogger but she has done some lovely cards. The blog award is the Sylish blogger award. I thought that was so cool.

OK, it says that I should tell eight things about my self. And then pass it on to eight stylish bloggers.
1. I have almost saved all of the money for the new canon camera that I have been wanting.
2. I love Christmas, but this is the first time in several years that I have had a tree of any kind.
3. I hate being cold, and I thought moving to the south would alleviate that problem. It didn't. the last two years have been the coldest since I moved here.
4. I love blogging. I did not think that I would last this long.
5. I love gadgets and I am looking forward adding a few more to my collections.
6. I have a birthday coming up soon and would love to give myself a party.
7. I hate driving, but it is the only way to get around without waiting around for someone to take me.
8. This is the worst time of year for missing my family....

The following blogs will receive the Award

4. You Inspire Me, Essence Vibez
5. Jazzy Paper Designs Tenia Nelson
8.

This is my Christmas Tree, I did not feel up to pulling all of the decorations out of storage (brand new, bought at the end of the year sales last year) So I went to Hobby Lobby's 50% off sale last week and bought this table top tree and all of the decorations.

This is a close up view of the ornaments and the lovely tree skirt.
This is the wreath, that I hung on the outside of my apartment door.

I collect Santa Clauses, so this one I just fell in love with. I call him my Father Christmas. I was in MIchaels today and saw one that I just have to have. I hope he doesn't sale out before the after Christmas sales start. Well, these are my decorations, I hope you enjoyed them.

Another Christmas card

Well it is the day after Thanksgiving and I am still busy making cards and having a really good time with it. For all of you that spent the day out shopping, I applaud you. I don't know how you can stand all of the madness of trying to be the first to get the special prices. But on to my card.

This card is for a challenge over at Tellens Place a blog that I came across yesterday and liked, the challenge was to use red and green, how easy is that. They offered a free digital image and a chance to enter their challenge. I colored the image with my Copics R27, R29 and R39. For the skin I used E31 and E25, I am still doing a lot of practice for skin tones. Sometimes to me they seem to come out blotchy. For the boots I used W7.  On the white fur of the outfit I used the crystal stickles. On the snowflakes I used the crystal stickles and  the xmas red and lime green stickles to give them sparkle. I used my Nesstibilities to cut the text and layer it.

I am also going to enter this card in the challenge over at Friday Sketchers #80 since I used their sketch for this card. Please leave a comment I would love to hear from you.

Tilda with wreath

Why is it that when you work all week the time drags on by? But, when you are doing something that is fun and which you have a great love for the time comes and goes fast enough to make your head spin? Anybody with the answer to these mysteries of life please let me know.

Today I have 2 cards from the same stamp. Tilda holding a wreath. I wasn't sure about the one that is colored with gray copics because the colors are more muted and I love bright jewel tones. but here they are. The images are colored with my copics which I am becoming more comfortable with and the red on the wreaths is xmas red stickles, I also used stickles on the wings. The paper used on the gray card is some that my daughter sent me this summer from the Michaels that was closed back home in Illinois. The paper reminded me of the colors of 1900's so I thought that they had a vintage look. The blue and whites of the other card are from Hobby Lobby's Paper Studio. The red flowers are from Michaels and the white and blue flowers are from my stash from Big Lots. The Tilda on the gray card was cut out and I used pop dots to raise her up. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. On the blue card I used the snowflake embossing folder from Cuttlebug.

White-Silver-Blue

Good morning,
It is Saturday and I love that I get to do the happy stuff. It is hard to get any thing done during the week after working all day. But, here I am again and this time it is a Christmas card. I did not plan to start on Christmas this early, but it is a challenge over at Colour Create. The challenge is a color challenge and the colors are white, silver and blue.

The make up of my card is, the white textured card stock is from Hobby Lobby's Paper Studio; the blue & white snowflake paper is from my stash that I used in my oldest granddaughters scrapbook, that was made for her 8th grade graduation. It contained photos of her from birth to age 14. She loved it and carried it around with her showing everyone she knew for weeks. The blue cardstock paper which was embossed with the snowflake folder and my Cuttlebug was picked up at Big Lots as was the metallic silver paper that was used for the Merry Christmas greeting, which was cut with my trusty Cricut. I am really getting a lot of use from the white snowflake brads from Michaels. Let's not forget the Santa stamp showing Santa kissing Mrs. Clause, which was bought off the clearence rack at Hobby Lobby for about $1. I love those clearance racks. Since the stamp was mostly filled in I used VersaMark to stamp with and then sprinkled silver embossing powder on it. On the greeting I used VersaMark again and sprinkled it with crystal snow which is where the sparkle came from.

Well this is my entry and I hope that you like it. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
