PAPER PURSES

Good morning, welcome back to my blog and I hope that you enjoy your visit with me. This week I am featuring a project that is a first for me. Paper Purses, there are lots of tutorials for so many different versions of this project. So, are simple and others are more extravagant. I chose to do a very simple project but, I love how it turned out. I made two different sizes and the first using 1 6x6 paper . The paper used for the 3 smaller purses is from Basic Grey and are from 2 very old collections. The second was made using 1 single sheet of 12x12 paper which is from Bazzill card stock. Please let me know what you think. the embellishments are all from my stash.

If you want to see a little more about these purses check out my YouTube channel. I would love it if you followed me there.

Well, these are my projects for the week and I hope that you will return again soon to see what else, I have created.

SPRING AT BROWN SUGAR #34

Don't you wish that spring would just get here and kick out this cold weather. I do, it has been raining and cold for days and my bones have been complaining loudly. But, at Brown Sugar Challenges this week the challenge is spring and our sponsor is "DIGI DARLA" they have some really cute images and you should check them out.

I colored the image with copics E11, E13, E23, E09, Y32, YG11 and a Martha Stewart glitter pen on the bows and the butterflies, the butterfly punch is just a small one from my stash.. The papers are from Basic Grey Wisteria paper pad. I have had this pad for several years and the piece used makes me think of a field of flowers. The card stock is Recollections and the metallic blue is Bazzill. The stamp is from the $1 bin at Michaels. The bling is from my stash.

BROWN SUGAR VALENTINES CHALLENGE # 29 (WITH KENNY K)

Good morning it is time for another wonderful challenge at Brown Sugar Challenge Blog, this week we have the fabulous Kenny K's Krafty Krew as our sponsor and he gave us some fabulous images to play with with. I got this sexy cupid.

I colored the image with copics E11, E15, E13, E23, R24, R27 I colored the wings with a gold marker and then covered them with stickles. I use the spica pink and red glitter pens on her little outfit, boots and garter belt and the bow and arrows. I cut her out and then used foam tape to pop her up, the ticket for love is from K and Company's last years valentines borders. The happy valentines day sentiment is from Michaels $1.50 bin, I cut out 3 different spellbinders labels and layered them. The DP paper is Basic grey from a long time ago. The card stock is Recollections. The heart border is also from K and Company. The bling is from my stash. The base of the card is from Recollections corrugated card set. I really like these and you can use them for any type of card, they can be dressed up or dressed down.

I used the same DP on the inside of the card and have not added a sentiment yet. The top of the inside is embossed with a new set of valentine embossing folders from Cuttlebug, well they are not new, I got them of clearance this summer, they came with 4 folders total and I paid about $3 for them. It says live, laugh, love and romance. has hearts and other designs on it. Well, that is it for my card. So, go on over to Brown Sugars Blog and join in the fun. Tell them that I sent you. If you would like to visit some of the other Design Team members you can get to their blogs from my side bar. We would love for you to join us.

CUDDLY CRITTERS/SKETCH AT THE PIXIE COTTAGE #114

Good morning all, today is a sad day, it is my last week as guest designer at The Pixie Cottage so stop by their blog and join in with this weeks challenge, cuddly critters and/or sketch. I have enjoyed my time as guest designer and I am sorry to see it end. But, as they say "All Good Things Must come To And End". So let's get to my card, the image is by Artish who designs for the Pixie Cottage.

And since I don't have a lot of critter/animal  images, I had to use this little kitty. I don't know if she is considered a critter or not. But, I thought she looked so cute having a tea party. That I could not resist. And since purple is my favorite color and along with this yellow paper from Basic Grey life of the party pad. The card stock is from the scrap file. I used a Spellbinders fancy label and typed the sentiment on the computer. The image was colored with my copics E00, E0000,  E11, E30, N2, Y000, Y08, Y13, spica glitter pens goldl and lilac. The bling is from my stash. Well, that is it for this card and don't forget to stop by The Pixie Cottage and join us for this challenge. Now, I do have a few challenges and I really have got to get ready for work.

THE PIXIE COTTAGE CHALLENGE #111 THINGS WITH WINGS/SKETCH

Hello friends, guess who was asked to be a guest designer at The Pixie Cottage Challenge blog for the month of March. Yes, you got it. I was, I am so excited. Michelle is a wonderful person and I love both her store and the challenge blog. I enter as many challenges as I can work into my busy schedule. Michelle's Scrapbooking and More has a wonderful line of stamps and digis' and lots of other things, you should really check them out. Here is a funny story, at the last DT call, I applied to be a junior designer on the team and the email address that I used was one that I don't check everyday. Well, several days after the DT call was over, I checked the emails and I had one from Michelle offering me a place on her team. But, I was to late, she had already announced the new team. Well, I felt sorry for myself for a while and then I sent her an email thanking her for the thought and apoligizing for not getting back to her sooner. Well, she sent me an email back and asked me if I would like to do a guest designer spot and I jumped at the chance. So here I am and I am ready to get started.

This weeks challenge is things with wings and you know there is a sketch. You can do either one or the other or like I did and do both.

The image that I have used is a SouthEnd girl by Andrea T. Sellers and you can buy her at Michelles Scrapbook and More the Pixie Cottage Store. She is #9002 in the store. I colored the image with my copics E11, E13, E09, E15 , YR00, YR02, YR01 and the orange spica glitter pen. the botton layer of paper is actually vellum that I bought about a year ago and never used it is from Making Memories a part of the slice line. it comes in 8x8 sheets and 8 wonderful colors. I really liked the feel of it. The DP is basic grey and I used one of my new spellbinders die cuts to cut the shapes. The bling is from my stash and the butterflies were cut with a $1 punch that I picked up somewhere. The sentiment is a $1 stamp from Michaels. My card came out kind of monochromatic although that is not what I had planned. Well, that is it for my card. And now you should join us for this weeks challenge at the Pixie Cottage. Hope to see you there.

2 SISTERS "RECIPE CHALLENGE" #81

Good morning everyone, today is Saturday, so that must mean it is time for another challenge at 2 Sisters. this week the challenge is a recipe:

1 Image
2 Patterned Papers
3 embellishments

With the weather being so weird here the last couple of months, I just felt ready for a little spring time. I loved the look of this image from Stitchy Bear Stamps
The image is called Sookie and I colored her using my copics E00, E11, E13, E15, E53, YG11, YG61, YG25 and the spica glitter pen melon. The papers are basic grey from the Wisteria line. It has been so long since I pulled any of my basic greys out, I felt that it was time. The bling is from my stash and the flower was colored with copics a little y02 and yg11. The spring stamp is from Michaels $1 bin.  The card stock is bazzill.

Now, it is your turn. Join us for this challenge over at 2 Sisters and stop by and check out the members of our team. They are a bunch of very talented ladies and would love to hear from you.

2 SISTERS STITCHING CHALLENGE #79

Are you ready for SPRING I am. This winter has been so weird. It has been freezing cold one day, raining another and another like spring weather. I just wish that it would be either or. There are so many people getting these virus or colds or flu and then they want to breathe in your space. I don't have the time to be sick. But, anyway I said all of that to introduce my spring like card. This week at 2 Sisters the challenge is to use STITCHING on your card, either real or faux.

I love that Basic Grey paper in the background and I have not used any of this in a long time. I wonder why that is? I think it might be because I have to much paper and keep buying more.  All other papers are from my scrap file. The happy spring stamp is from the $1 bin at Michaels. My stitching is faux. The bling is from my stash and the image was colored with Copics Y00, Y02, Y04, G12, W1, W3, C1. I used the atyou spica glitter pens, lemon, pitch black, and mint. The image is "It's a Dragonfly Day" from:

I have a few of her images and they are really great. You should go by and check her out, you just might find something that you like.
So that is my card for today, now it is your turn, make your card using stitiching either real or faux and stop by 2 Sisters challeng blog and join us in this weeks challenge. And while you are at it. Stop by the other members of my team and say hello. they would really love to hear from you.

SPRING TIME BIRTHDAY

Good morning everyone, I have a new card and some sad news. At least sad for me. This week I got the news that Tellen's Place was changing its format and with the direction that it was going  they would no longer need the services of a full design team. I am now out of a position. I will be looking for a new team to work with and if any of you know of anything I will be willing to listen. When I started blogging Tellen's Place was one of the first blogs that I joined in with the challenges and from there it led to a position on the team. Terry is a wonderful lady and it was a pleasure to work with her. I love the images that her son draws and I will continue to use them on a regular basis. You can visit Terry at the new format and still get the images you love at Tellen's Place Designs, there are lots of new designs and she will have blog candy and even a few challenges. I will be joining in myself. Thanks for a great opportunity Terry.

My new card is another Kenny K image and it was created for the oldest granddaughter of a friend. but, I think that it gives a feel of Springtime with the Basic grey papers (from the Wisteria pack). I love the dragon flies in the background, the flowers are Prima and the bling is from my stash. I used the Cuttlebug spots and dots folder the the card stock is from Bazzill. I colored the image with copics E00, E11, E13, E25, E42, BG93, BG95, BG10, W3, W5, YG61 and the spica glitter pens melon and mint. The punch is Martha Stewart and the ticket sentiment is from a set sent to me by a friend. The sketch is from Lollipop Crafts.

I embossed the inside with one of the folders from the Cuttlebug art deco set and the stamped sentiment is from Stampendous.

SPARKLE AND LACE!

This card was a winner at "Craft your Passion".. Anything Goes Challenge #52

Well, another Friday is upon us and that means it is time for another Tellen's Place challenge, the challenge this week is Sparkle and Lace. So get out your glitter, bling or anything that sparkles and your lace and then stop by for a visit with us. The DIVAS have been really busy and have come up with some fabulous designs. You can visit the other DIVAS by clicking on their names on my sidebar or by clicking on their pictures on the Tellen's blog. They would love for you to come by for a visit. The challenge is open to everyone, you do not have to use a Tellen's image, but if you do you get extra points. There is only one entry per person. We will all come to your blog and leave a comment. Entering more than once will not give you any more chances to win. We will only leave one comment. Now on to my card.

My card ended up being monochromatic, it wasn't intentional, it just happened. The papers are Basic Grey from the Cappella pad. and the bazzill card stock is from the scrap pile. I thought that they were just perfect together. The spellbinders dies are the fancy tag and label 10. I love the scalloped ends on this one. I wrote done the copics used and now can't find my list. The lace is from the from a wonderful package that I won last year and the bling is from my stash. I am sending this card to my daughter for Mother's Day. The DIVA is from the Tellen's collection.

BUTTONS! BUTTONS! Lets see some Buttons

Happy Friday evening, well we have had really nice weather this week with tempertures anywhere from 65 degrees to 70. But, guess what, when the temperature goes up, the pollen starts to fly. In this area of Alabama, there is a really nasty yellow pollen that for the next month will fall on and stick to everything that it lands on.  It will play havoc with my allergies. And, yes it has started already. My way of thinking is that it is still winter time. We should not have pollen now. OH, WELL. I said this to say, it has caused me to have red irritated eyes for the last 2 weeks and finally after trying over the counter allergy drops (which my doctor says that I should not use)  I could not stand it another second so I made an appointment, got my eyes dialated and some drops that will actually work and was home by 4 pm..

This is a little late, but better late than never. Today being Friday it is time for another Tellen's Place , this week the challenge is .BUTTONS. So, show us your buttons. The DIVAS have had a busy week and have come up with some fabulous designs to share. So, stop by Tellen's and join us in another fantastic challenge. You could be a winner. The winner will get to choose 3 of Tellen's wonderful images. Please remember that there is only one entry person. After linking to the Tellen's blog the Divas will come around for a visit and leave you a comment. So come on over and play with us.

My card for this week is Pera the fairy. She will bring a little magic to your life.

She is colored with copics E00, E09, E11, E13, E51, E53, E71. Spica glitter pens chocolate and sand. The paper is Basic Grey from the Capella pad. It is the scraps left over from another recent project . But I love the papers so much, I just hate to see any of it go to waste. The punch is from Martha Stewart (one of the new square punches that can be used anywhere on the paper. I do love this design and I am trying to decide the next one to buy. I also recently bought some of the Martha Stewart glitter sets. I find that It gives a better shine than the glitter pens. The button is from my stash. The chocolate paper is embossed with the circle embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I used crystal stickles on the wings and the stamp is from a clear stamp set from Recollections. I really like how this came out. Well, that is it for this project. Sorry that it is so late. And yes I have challenges.

BIRTHDAY WISHES

Happy Friday everyone. Has it seemed like a really long week to anyone else. I love the photography class and I think that I am learning a lot. About f/stops and shutter speeds, lighing and knowing what everything in your menu means. Checking your settings before you start shooting. There is much more to learn. I will be posting some of my photos just as soon as I get some time to get them on the computer. It probably won't be until after this class session ends next week. I will be signing up for more. The class I am in right now is a beginners class and I plan to work at this until I make it to the advanced class. The photographer/teacher is fabulous and funny. He really loves what he does and enjoys sharing it with others. He takes the time to listen to your questions and never makes you fill like you have asked a stupid question. Ok, enough about that.

Since my birthday was on Tuesday, isn't it fun that the challenge at Tellen's Place this week is Birthdays. The DIVA's have had a fun time creating and you can see all of these at Tellens's Place. The challenge is open to all and you don't have to use a Tellen's image, but if you do, you get extra points when we vote. This week Terry is offering a freebie and you get that on the challenge blog. Please remember that there is only one ENTRY per person. If you enter more than once the Divas will not leave a comment on the second entry and it will not be considered in the voting. We love stopping by your blogs to visit and leave a little love.  So stop on by Tellen's and show us your birthday love. The card that I made is done with an image from the 2009 designs. and since it was my birthday it is a card for me and about me.

This image was colored with copics E00, E11, E13, E15, E09,  BV00,BV02, BV04, I used a purple glaze pen on the hat, belt and shoes. The bling balloon is from my stash as is the flowers and brad. The punched edges were sent to me by my team mate Sandra. She is just so sweet. She punched me lots and lots of different shaped pieces and I can't wait to get to them. The DP is Basic Grey (kioshi) I do love this paper and I hate to waste any of it. The it's all bout me stamp is from the $1 bin at Michaels. To make the ME stand out, I used Martha Stewart glitter on it.  the celebrate and it's my party stamps are from a $1 clear stamp set that I think came from Michaels also. Well that is it for this card. And maybe, there are a couple of challenges.

TILDA IS BACK THINKING ABOUT YOU

Wow, the weekend is almost over and I am finally finishing up some projects. and have something to post. I have not been using as many Tilda images as I used to. And I felt like I have been missing something in the last little whil. Tilda is such a cutie and can be incorporated into so many different types of cards. So I decided to use one of my favorite Tilda, and I have never been able to remember what she is called. But, I like to call her Tilda Sitting.  I know it doesn't matter what she is called. Magnolias can be bought at the Magnolia-licious Online Store, it is currently down for maintenance so be sure to check back later.

I am still learning my new camera and have not mastered it yet. So this pic was taken with my older camera. I don't know why, but I am not happy with either picture. my colors look dull and brown looks black the other colors look flat. Well, Tilda was colored with copics E00, E11, E13, E51, E53, E09. I used the spica chocolate and gold glitter pens. I embossed the brown card stock with the hearts embossing folder from Cuttlebug, The strawberry paper is Basic Grey. The ribbon came off of something that I purchased. The roses are Recollections. The bling heart is from my stash. The red card stock is Bazzill. the Spellbinders is the Beaded ovals set. I think that it was perfect for sitting Tilda on it. I typed the sentiment on the computer.

The sketch is from Just Magnolia

STRIPES!

Happy Friday my wonderful blogger friends. And since it is Friday, it is time for another Tellen's Place  challenge. This week we want to see your STRIPES. That's right show us your stripes and then  link your creation to the Tellen's Place blog and you are in. Please remember that there is only one ENTRY per person. Once you are linked, the DIVAS will stop by your blog and leave you just a little love. If you use a Tellen's Place image, you will also receive extra points in the voting. So please stop by and join us for another exciting challenge.

The image that I have used is from the 2009 collection. I always loved this particular DIVA and thought this would be a great time to pull her out.

The Diva was colored with copics E11, E13, E15, E25, G20, G21, G24, V04, V06, spica glitter pens, lilac and lavender. The papers are Basic Grey (kioshi pad). The card stock is Bazzill, the Martha stewart punch is a new one for me. And would you believe that I through the packaging away without writing down the name. I know, I have to stop that. The hearts were bought at Hobby Lobby, just because some of them had stripes on them. The sentiment is from a clear stamp set.

Yes, there are challenges this week.

LOVE, LOVE AND MORE LOVE

Well, I made it. I have had a very busy weekend and I actually got some crafting done. And this is my favorite. It is for my daughter and  it covers Valentine's Day and her birthday. Hey, the inside and out are done. So one is good. The image is from Bugaboo Stamps, the image used is Scarlett and the challenge at Catch the Bug Challenge blog  is Anything goes.

The paper colors are bronze, beige tan with some brown, blue and cream in the Basic Grey striped(Cappella) I really do love the Basic Grey papers. The paper  that I printed my sentiment on is cream crackle paper from the Paper Studio. The bronze paper that I embossed with the hearts folder from Cuttlebug is also from The Paper Studio. The roses are from Recollections at Michaels. The card base and first layer which is embossed with the Cuttlebug swiss dots folder is Bazzill. since the stripped paper had some blue I used 3 rhinestones to pick up the blue in the paper. the LOVE charm is from my stash and were bought at Stamp and Create. I used the Martha Steward leaf punch. The brown pearls are some that I won in a wonderful prize last year. The image was colored with copics E11, E13, E15, E00,E09, E51, YG95, W5, I used the spica glitter pens sand and silver. The funny thing about that is that the colors look bronze on the dress, shoes and purse. Around the edges of the image I tried to tone down the white paper by using  bronze (ink dot) ink, just a little distressing withoout going over board..

I am having so many problems with lighting in my craft room/office. I am really hoping that the photography class that I am starting on Tuesday will help me to get better photos of my cards and scrapbook pages.

Just a few challenges to enter and then I have got to get this card in the mail.

GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN

Good morning, I am back with another post, my 2nd in 3 days. I think that I am starting to get things in perspective. And by not spending hours and hours on the computer hopping around, I am getting more creating done. I have set aside time to visit blogs for commenting and for visiting with my different groups. I will let you know how this works out.

Now for an announcement. In a few weeks I will be having a birthday. I have not decided how I will celebrate it yet, but their will some fun involved. I will let you know my plans soon.

Here is the reason that I am here. I have made a new creation. The image is one from the Tellen's 2009 designs. Terry sent it to me last year in a goodie box along with lots of wonderful supplies. She is such a sweet heart and really looks out for her design team. I had never colored this image and only remembered that I had it while trying to organize my digis. I tend to print way to many and then never get them colored. Stick them in a bag and forget them. So this little beauty got stuck in the bag also. But, now she is found and I think that she is gorgeous. I don't know her name, she is colored with copics E30, E31, E33, BV08,BV11, G24, W5, W3, WW7. I don't do a lot of black hair, so I think I could use some practice on that. I also used the spica lavender glitter pen on her shoes. My DP papers are from Basic Grey, the Kioshi pad, the card stock is Bazzill. I used the swirls embossing folder and the diamond folder from Cuttlebug. I used my small daisy flower punch for the flowers and punched them out of some handmade papers that I had. The center of the flowers are some bling that I have picked up along the way. The little butterfly bling are from my stash.

The sketch that I used is from The Pixie Cottage and flowers are the added something. I flipped the sketch around.
So, that is it for my card and if you know me, you know that there are several challenges that I will be entering this into. I will be adding this to my art journal, but it is a design I will probably get to use in the future.

TILDA IN THE SPRINGTIME

"I AM SO EXCITED, THIS CARD WAS A WINNER AT TOTALLY GORJUSS, #64 HOT! HOT! HOT!.

Happy Sunday everyone. I know that I have not been posting as much as I did last year and I am just trying to get some things under control. I spent so much time on the computer during the last year that there were many things in my life that totally went out of control. One of those things has been my weight. Another was my reading and journaling. I used to visit the library every week, I have not been once in the last year. I keep a journal and over the last year I seem to always be weeks and months behind on doing that. And since so much of my time was blog hopping, I found that I did not design projects as much as I wanted to. I was always wanting to try new techniques, but found that there was never enough time. So one of my goals for this year is to have a certain time to visit my favorite blogs and leave comments. And with my Design team duties, I have to be organized. I also want to find more time for some of the new techniques that I have been wanting to try. So please just bear with me. I am trying to get things worked out. Another thing that I will be doing this year is learning to use my new camera and (yes I was able to get registered for the photography class that I was looking at) I talked to the photographer and I have paid my money. The class will be starting in February and it is 3 sessions (3 weeks) for 3 hours each. They will be on Mondays. This particular photographer does a lot of field trips, so we will be spending a lot of time out in the field. This should be great. I will be working on a lot more scrapbook pages than cards. My card stash is huge and I don't see having to make cards for my family for the rest of the year and into the next. So since my photos have really been piling up and I have lots of new things that I will be photographing, I think that scrapbook layouts are the way for me to go. Plus, I have been buying a lot of items that I want to alter. So look for that in the near future.

Ok, I have a new project to share today and I will try to keep this short. I love Magnolia stamps and it has been a while since I have used any of them. Today my project is Tilda.. I am not sure what she is called, she was a gift and the name was not on the package. So if any body knows please tell me. My favorite place to buy Magnolia stamps is the Magnolia-licious Online Store which is owned by Diana Crick and her husband. The customer service is fabulous and I am looking to stop by and get a couple of the new Magnolia mini images. I have only seen a few of them but, they are just so cute. And I know I need to add a couple of them to my collection.

Now here is my card.

I don't use yellow very much but, with the cold and dreary weather that we have been having here in Alabama, I needed something to cheer me up. Just so you know I did not use my new camera to take this picture. I was in a hurry to get it done and I just used my old one. Since this image was colored with copics months ago I have not been able to find my notes on which I used. The base is bazzill and the 3 design papers are from the Basic Grey lemonade pad. I have to tell you that I love Basic Grey, but the lemonade pad is one of my favorites. (If you have a Big Lots store near you, you should know that they have been having basic grey assesories in stock since Christmas, I first saw them when I was in Georgia, then I was in the store here and found lots more. They have some brads, buttons and even had several clear stamps that I bought. so you should check it out if you like Basic Grey, the price is definitly right). Both sentiment stamps come from the same clear stamp set, and I have thrown the packaging away so I don't remember the maker, but it is a set that I bought at Hobby Lobby. I used the circle Spellbinders and the button flowers are from my stash. The color of them just went so perfect with my papers and the flower that Tilda is holding. The two yellow brads and the yellow ribbon is from my stash. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday.

Christmas in September

Hi all, I am back from my weekend retreat and I wanted to get this card posted before I head off to bed. I will tell you all about it tomorrow and show some of the pictures that I took. This card is a Christmas card. I have been practicing making flowers while I was gone and decided to make a poinsetta for my card. The pattern for the poinsetta is from Kayla's Kreation, a paper piecing program that I have. I usually use it for scrapbooking and since I got some done this weekend and found this while I was looking for something else.

The papers used are Basic Grey from the Eskimo Kisses pad, the cardstock is Bazzill, the poinsettas were cut from scraps from my file and sprayed with smooche. The sentiment was cut with the Spellbinders fancy tag and stamped with a Penny Black stamp from a Christmas set that I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby. The red paper with the swirls is from a pack of handmade papers from  Hobby Lobby also.I used my new spellbinders inverted scallop circle, which I bought last week from Hobby Lobby. It is one of the ones that they have clearanced out. I thought it was different, I don't see many people use this one. I used stickles on the leaves of my flowers. That is it. My card has lots of layers and no coloring. Wow, no copics were used in the making of this card. They will be back tomorrow.
There are challenges to be entered. I was gone for 3 days and had no internet service or cell phone service. So it is good to be back to civilization.

Your Next Stamp Challenge Make your own flowers (use a stamp digi or traditional--I used a sentiment stamp)
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Circles (I used an inverted scallop circle)

Flower Garden

Ok, I am back with one more card. Boy, did I have a very busy weekend. I loved every minute of it. I completed a total of 5 cards and that is a record for me. I took them to work and one of my co-workers decided she wanted me to design a card for a friend of hers. How cool is that. So that is my project for the week to come up with a card to make some one feel better. But, now I want  to keep this post short. So, on to the card.

The image that I have used is a  Gorjuss - she is the Purrfect friend comes with a cat. This is a Sugar Nellie Stamp. It was colored with my copics. I tried a new skin combination E00, E11, E13, E15, E25, R83, R81, R85, Y11, Y21, YG63, YG25, YG95, YG03. The paper is Basic Grey, the lemonade pad. I used paper peicing, I stamped 2 images and one was on the flowered paper. The second stamp (flowers) is from Stampenous. The Primas, they were a light pink and I used R85 to make them darker. The twine is from Hobby Lobby (I was so glad that they had small packages and different colors). Once again I used my new distressing tool from Tim Holtz, I love that thing.  My card base is Bazzill. There are only a few challenges that I want to enter this into. The first is Basic Grey Challenges (fortnightly) the challenge is paper piecing. They are also having a DT call. And I would love to design for them. So, I am going to give it a shot. The next challenge is Sir Stampalot Challenge the challenge is distressing. I know, I entered my last card and got a message that I had to many challenges to qualify for the prize, but I could try again. Maybe this time I got it right. You can't have more than six challenges to qualify. The next challenge is Our Creative Corner Sketch Weekly

That is it for challenges and I am coming to the end of my post. I hope that you like my card and I would love to hear from you.

DISTRESSED - VINTAGE - SHABBY - OLD - WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE

I  have an announcement. TELLEN' PLACE DESIGNS will be back on September 10, 2010 with our first challenge after summer vacation. Please stop by and check us out. Our challenges are moving from Wednesday to Friday. And instead of being every week. We are now going to be held every other Friday. But, between challenges there will be lots going on.

Have you ever visited a challenge blog and think I have to enter a challenge here. But, you have to use images from that particular company. And you don't have any. Or you only have one that you have already used several times. Well that is how it has been for me. I have wanted to enter the challenges at Penny Black Saturday Challenge or Penny Black @ Alsorts Challenge. I did not have the images to do this. I have a friend who owns stamps that go on forever and she had some Penny Black stamps that she loaned me. Some she has had for years. Well, I can finally enter the challenge at Penny Black at Allsorts a monthly challenge. This month it is Punches.

My image was colored with copics E21, E31, E33, E25, E53, G20, G21, G24, G09, G40, YG63, Y02, Y04. The punch used was a $1 flower punch that has been in my stash for ages. The 2 DP papers is from the Wisteria pad by Basic Grey. The card stock is from the scrap pile. I have got to use more scraps or I am going to run out of space to keep it. I used my new set of Label 10 to cut the image and back ground (embossed  with Cuttlebug and cuttlebug embossing folder?). I found this wonderful little tool by Tim Holtz that is used to distress the paper. I love this thing. This is the first time  that I have tried to distress the paper that I actuall y like the result. I had planned to take a picture of it. But, I forgot. The next time I post a card I will show the tool. Did I say that I love it. I bought it at Hobby Lobby for $4.99. But, I think it is worth every penny.  I used my coupon on something else that day. The ink used on the edges of the papers was Dew Drop Versa magic Chalk ink, spanish olive. I also stamped the sentiment in this. I colored the white paper flowers with copics. I punched the center flower with the $1 punch and the brads are from my stash. The charm is also from the stash. I used the green and yellow spica glitter pen on the outfit and flower but not to much. I think this card turned out really good. And I am very happy with the skin tone. The sketch is from Totally Gorjuss:

There are several challenges besides the 2 mentioned.

BUTTERFLIES, BUTTERFLIES AND MORE BUTTERFLIES

Good morning, it is once again Monday and another work day. I love going to work (smilel) that is where I can make some more money so that I can buy more supplies to make more cards and crafts. I am back with another post and this one is all about the butterflies. I love butterflies. They come in so many gorgeous colors and they change their whole personality in a lifetime. First they are the ugly caterpillar, crawling around on the ground. And then after a long rest in a caccoon they emerge from a long sleep as this beautiful butterfly that can fly. How cool is that.

This is not a project  that I had to color. I used two butterfly stamps that I bought at Michaels. I made two other butterflies on the bottom of the easel card with the butterfly Spellbinders. And the really gorgeous butterfly with all the colors is from Jolie. The paper used for the card is all from my scrap file. The two blue DP was from the Lime Rickey pad by Basic grey, the rest I am not really sure about. Like I said it is from my scraps. The bling is from my stash. and the button is from The Paper Studio. The sentiment on the one stamp says "Find your wings and fly!" The flowers are from my stash.

The challenges are:
Crafty Creations Butterflies
Flutter by Wednesday A recipe: 1 part sparkle; 2 parts designer paper; 3 buttons or gems
Crafty Catz Buttons and butterflies
Digital Tuesday use your scraps
Fab N' Funky Flower Power

Well, that is it for today. I hope to be able to post something else before I take a few days vacation starting on Friday. I will be going to the south suburbs of Chicago, my home town for many years. But, I will only be gone a few days.
