SATURDAY MORNING CHALLENGE OF FRIENDS 9

Good morning bloggers, this is Joyce and I am here with a new post. I am trying to be a better blogger. Today I have a new project that I made for my challenge with a friend on my Youtube channel. We call it the Saturday morning challenge of friends (S.M.C.O.F.) This is our 9th challenge and we try to keep it interesting. Please check us out. This weeks challenge was to make 3x3 cards with envelopes and a presentation (something to store them in).
To get a better view, check out my video here. The paper that I used was from K and Company and is called black and cream.  I made the flowers for another challenge that we did a few weeks ago. I used bazzill card stock for the base of my cards and cut the paper to 3x6. I used my corner chomper to round the edges. the stamp is from Michaels a few years ago. I used my envelope punch from We R Memory Keepers to make the 3 1/4x3 1/4 envelopes. The book is to hold the cards and envelopes was made using 1-8 1/2x11 sheet of heavy duty card stock and I matted the with the same papers that I used on my cards.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Happy Saturday Bloggers,
I am back with another post and a Happy Birthday wish for one of my granddaughters. I am a little late but, hey better late than never. I was sitting around last weekend thinking that I had been late getting everyone of my cards made this year. So, I decided to make up a batch of cards in advance so that I would have them ready when I needed them. I had recently bought 3 new Gorjuss girls stamps and had not used anything of them. Here is the first. The image is called "Pretend Friend" and it comes with 3 stamps, a frame, a border and a Gorjuss girl with a toy. I did not use the toy and gave here a set of balloons to hold onto.

I have to say that this picture does not do my card any good. It looks way better in person. I have been having trouble uploading photos to my blog and had to go to Mozilla firefox to do it. Something is going on with internet explorer.

I colored the images with my copics E11, E13, V01, V06, V12, I used wink of Stella glitter pen clear to give sparkle. The bling is from my stash as is the twine or ribbon on the balloon. The card stock is from Gina K and the DP is from the Paper Studio. the birthday presents is from a stamp called birthday presents and it is from Stamp Happens and was designed by Tara Reed. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Michaels $1 bin. I have a few challenges that I want to enter this card into. It has been a while since I have entered into any challenges and I would like to get back to it.

THANK YOUR TEACHERS AT TUESDAY THROWDOWN # 145

Good morning, it is Tuesday and time for another fun challenge at Tuesday Throwdown. This weeks challenge is "Thank Your Teachers" and the Sponsor is BUGABOO STAMPS. Jodie Mackrel is the owner and she has created lots of fabulous images.

My project this week is the wonderful little notebook. The DP is from K and Company. It is made using scraps from a mini that I am working on. I used several Spellbinders dies and a junior legal pad. The cover is made with card stock from Gina K. And as you can I see I created a pocket so the I could keep up with small bits of papers. On the front cover I used and image from Bugaboo Stamps and colored it with copics V01, V20, V17, V04, V91, E11, E13, E15. The stamped sentiment is from Michaels $1 bin. I punched it out with a EK success punch. I used a Martha Stewart punch to make a little decorative strip to go under the spellbinders, the corner bling is from Recollections.  I received the butterfly from my friend Terry in a swap that we recently did. I really like how this tuned out and I am going to take it to work and use it on my desk. I did glue to legal pad down. Well that is it for this post, I do have some challenges.

A PURPLE BIRTHDAY WISH

Happy Sunday everybody. Finally I have finished my Christmas cards and they are ready to address and mail. And that is why I am just finishing my first card for posting. I think that I have mentioned before that I am in a birthday club, well I only have a few more cards to make and this is one of them. Her choice of colors were purples so that was right up my alley. The image  is from Kenny K. Krafty Girlz the challenge is Monochromatic. I used a freebie that I got from Kenny K. a few weeks ago. She's called Holla Back Girl. The 2 DP are digital paper from Gina K at Stamp TV. They were freebies also. One is deep plum, although it did not print that way and the other is like embossed leaves although you can't see that with all the layers. I have to work on my color output. The card stock is from The Paper Studio. the image is colored with copics E00, E09, E11, E13, E25, W1, W3, W5, V01, V04, V12, spica glitter pens; lilac, lavender and gold. The punch is Martha Stewart. The flowers are Petaloo. The embossing folder is from the new Art Deco set by Cutlebug. I got it recently at Hobby Lobby with a 40% coupon. The ribbon is from my stash as is the bling. The sentiment is from a clear stamp set.

Well, that is it for this card and yes there are more challenges.

FALL IS SUCH A GREAT TIME OF YEAR

Well, good morning, I am back with another fall card. this one was a quickie to make. I loved the simplicity of the sketch. I had to improvise on the corners because I don't have a punch that cuts like the ticket corners. I used a Martha Stewart balloon punch to make the corners. I think it worked just fine. The sketch is from Inktegrity Design Team Challenges

The image that I used is  also from Inktegrity it was a freebie at the CDAC. I think it was perfect for this challenge. Which is fall.

My image was colored with copics E25, E27, E51, G24, G08, YG67, YR61, YR65, YR68. I used the peach spica glitter pen on the pumpkins for a little gltter. the sentiment and the leaf is from Recollections at Michaels for $.99 per pack. The papers are Bazzill, it was all pieces from my scrap file. The bling is from my stash. I used the Cuttlebug to cut of the image and the mat, I used the same size spellbinders die and then embossed the image and cut the edge off. I saw this on Gina K. It works really good. I inked the edge of  the image with E25.

And, I am sure that you know there are a few challenges for this card to be entered into.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY 2

Wow, here it is Friday night and I have a new card to post. I am really on the ball this week. What can I say, it is almost 100 degrees outside and my body can not stand to much of those temperatures. So it is easier to get everything done and stay inside the rest of the time. I worked this morning and got off about 1 pm, ran some errands, stopped at Hobby Lobby for some paper that is 50% off, tried to pick up a sandwich at Quizno's (but it was closed along with 2 other restaurants in the same strip mall). I came home made some lunch instead and got to work. Here is the results.

The sketch is from Sunday Sketch and Stamp:

I made a few additions to the sketch, but I think that is allowed.

Now, I will tell you a little about this card. It was colored with my copics, C1, E31, E33, E53, E50, E09, G 17, G09, ROO, R20, W3, W5. Spica glitter pens, pink, baby blue, mint and garnet. The card stock is from Hobby Lobby, the Paper Studio, I also used handmade papers from the Paper Studio. I love the look of those papers. (See, I bet you did not think I could use any thing except Bazzill). The sentiment is a $1 stamp from Michaels, there were 4 different sayings I used 2 together. The bling is from my stash. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss my first layer with the snowflake folder. I used crystal stickles on the snowflakes. The large snowflake was cut with a Martha Stewart punch, which was bought at michaels in the clearance bin for $3.98. The small snowflake is from my stash. I cut the sentiment and its mat with my Spellbinders Nestibliliies. Also, the mat under the image was cut with the scalloped square Nestibilities.  I love these items. And after watching the interviews that Gina K did at the CHA with employees of Spellbinders, Basic Grey, Cuttlebug, I can't wait for the new items to hit the stores. I have got to really start saving some money, so that I will be able to buy some new supplies. She also interview Diana Crick it was great. You should go and check it out. I love the way that this card turned out and hope that you like it

TAKING THE OLD AND MAKING IT NEW

Good morning all, yesterday I talked a little bit about what I wanted to do for the new year. Today I would like to add to that. As far as my life goes, I want to come off of my BP meds and to do that I will have to drop a few pounds and that means more exercise. I plan to make that the main priority of the year. So, yesterday I started the year off right with a 30 minute walk at the health club. I will be on my way back in a few hours for some weight workout.

As far as my craft goes, I want to branch out and be more adventurous. I tend to take the easy and simple way most of the time. I have never tried an easel card that is on my list. I saw a frame card on Jacque's blog for a new challenge, I plan to try that also.

I also plan to try some Altered projects, take something old and make it new. Which is what I have done with this project. It is something that Gina K recently did on Stamp TV, she took an empty square tissue box and made a beautiful box to hold cards. It could actually be used to hold anything you wanted. I decided that I needed something to hold my Prismacolor pencils and glitter pens and gel pens. My work space was becoming just to crowded with containers and I am trying to be more organized. My box is not as pretty but it is definitly functional. Well here it is:

Well this is what I started with, after it was empty.

The whole box was upholstered inside and out and is very sturdy.

As you can see I did not use a lot of embellisments, but I had to use a Tilda.
And yes she was colored with Copics.

There was one small thing about the measurements for this box... Gina used a Kleenex brand tissue box, I used a Walmart brand tissue box. Walmart's tissue box is a bit smaller that the Kleenex brand. So I had to adjust the measurements.

There is one more thing that I can think of that I want to get better with and that is my Prismacolor pencils and OSM. I have only used them once and I need to justify buying so many of them. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

I have been using Magnolia images that were stamped an given to me as a gift in a goodie bag and now finally I am working on an order at the Magnolia-licious store to buy an assortment of new stamps to add to the 4 that I did buy at the scrapbook store near me. I love the fact that you can start an order, log out and go back later and the items are still in your cart. How cool is that. Diana, look for me to be back soon to finish my order.
