IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS

Hi all, it is almost that time again when that jolly old guy in the red suit makes his annual appearance. I sure hope that he finds my temporary residence. But, just in case I decided to  post this Christmas card.

It is made using My Minds Eye lost and found Christmas. I used spellbinders dies and Recollections die cut, a Martha Stewart punch. I love this set of papers which was bought at Michaels for 70% off the regular price and I used the pad to make about 10 cards and used almost the whole thing. There are a few sheets left and I will use them in a mini album.

PURPLE ALTERED BOX

Ok, I know that it has been a long time since I posted any of my projects. I have been creating and making some videos to post on YouTube here is my channel. Would love for you to stop by for a visit. This is a recent project that I have altered. It is a wooden box that I bought at Michaels. This is what it looked like when I got it.

This is the finished box. The lace was given to me by a friend and I sprayed it with  dylusions crushed grape spray. the flowers are from several different places, The Paper Studio, Recollections and Wild Orchid Crafts. I made the stick pin and  the bling is Recollections. I first painted by box with Martha Stewart pearl paint. But, that was a little lighter than I wanted. So, I then covered it with Viva Inka Gold metallic rub, violet. I love the richness of the colors. The trim around the bottom is from Tim Holtz and I sprayed it with dylusions crushed grape spray also. The metal corners were rubbed with the Inka gold also.

Underneath the Tim Holtz trim is some grey burlap from the Paper Studio and some glitter ribbon It is really prettier in person.

Well, that is it. I really like how this box turned out and it is a gift for my daughter. You can see the video for this here. Stop on by for a visit.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to do better about posting in the future.

THANK YOUR TEACHERS AT TUESDAY THROWDOWN # 145

Good morning, it is Tuesday and time for another fun challenge at Tuesday Throwdown. This weeks challenge is "Thank Your Teachers" and the Sponsor is BUGABOO STAMPS. Jodie Mackrel is the owner and she has created lots of fabulous images.

My project this week is the wonderful little notebook. The DP is from K and Company. It is made using scraps from a mini that I am working on. I used several Spellbinders dies and a junior legal pad. The cover is made with card stock from Gina K. And as you can I see I created a pocket so the I could keep up with small bits of papers. On the front cover I used and image from Bugaboo Stamps and colored it with copics V01, V20, V17, V04, V91, E11, E13, E15. The stamped sentiment is from Michaels $1 bin. I punched it out with a EK success punch. I used a Martha Stewart punch to make a little decorative strip to go under the spellbinders, the corner bling is from Recollections.  I received the butterfly from my friend Terry in a swap that we recently did. I really like how this tuned out and I am going to take it to work and use it on my desk. I did glue to legal pad down. Well that is it for this post, I do have some challenges.

SPRING AT BROWN SUGAR #34

Don't you wish that spring would just get here and kick out this cold weather. I do, it has been raining and cold for days and my bones have been complaining loudly. But, at Brown Sugar Challenges this week the challenge is spring and our sponsor is "DIGI DARLA" they have some really cute images and you should check them out.

I colored the image with copics E11, E13, E23, E09, Y32, YG11 and a Martha Stewart glitter pen on the bows and the butterflies, the butterfly punch is just a small one from my stash.. The papers are from Basic Grey Wisteria paper pad. I have had this pad for several years and the piece used makes me think of a field of flowers. The card stock is Recollections and the metallic blue is Bazzill. The stamp is from the $1 bin at Michaels. The bling is from my stash.

SPRING TIME/EASTER

Good morning, I am here with a short post. I had a chance to play with Tilda and decided it was time for a little more springtime. This is the first time that I have used so many stamps and images on one project. I wanted to make a scene look like a park. The tree is a Penny Black stamp (splendor 3977H), the tulips are Magnolia as is Tilda. My favorite place to shop for Magnolia Stamps is Magnolia-licious Online Store, the owner Diana Crick is wonderful and so is the service.

The bench is from Sugar Plums. The eggs are a stamp from Craftsmart, bought in the clearance rack at Hobby Lobby. I used the Martha Stewart punch floral vine and Spellbinders curved rectangles. The card stock is bazzill. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is a digital freebie, I forget where it is from. The bling is from my stash.

All images were colored with copics:

Tilda- E00, E11, E13, E09, E25, G21, G24, G12, Y13, Y15 and spica lemon and mint glitter pens
Tulips- Y13, Y15, Y17, Y19, Y21 and spica lemon/buttermilk glitter pen
Chick - Y13, Y15, Y35
Eggs - RV06, RV19,RV21 and spica pink glitter pen.
The bench - E25, E27, E29

Well, that is it for this card. I will be entering it into the following challenges. I hope that you have enjoyed your visit. I will return soon.

GUEST DESIGNER AT DIGITAL TWO FOR TUESDAY

I was recently offered an opportunity to do a Guest designer spot at Digital Two for Tuesday a wonderful vintage blog that offers lots of free and gorgeous images. Cora Harkin is the owner and you should really stop by for a visit. I know that you will find at least a few images that you can't resist.

My technique this week is DISTRESS RESIST. In my search to find out how to do this. There are several different styles. First I used versmark to stamp my tree branches/leaves and covered that area with clear embossing powder, then used the heat gun to emboss it. After that was done I used Tim Holtz distress inks wild honey and faded jeans with a sponge applicator to cover the embossed areas. Using a piece of paper towel I wiped off the excess ink and the emblossing comes through beautifully.

I colored this beautiful bird with my copics E31, G24, R22, Y13, Y11, Y17. the background stamp is from Studio G. the sentiment is from the $1 bin at Michaels and the card stock is from my scrap file. I used a Martha Stewart corner punch that I recently purchased and used the faded jeans ink around the edges of the image. I really like how this card turned out and can't wait to send it to a friend who lives out of town.

I have made more Halloween items this year than I normally do. This week it is for a spot over at Digital Two for Tuesday. Where one of my projects is being featured this week. Cora Harkin the owner of this wonderful blog posted a few months ago that she was looking for some guest designers and I signed up. This is my first card using one of her vintage Halloween images.  She offers so many free image I know that you will find something that you like.

I think that the little girl dressed as a pumpkin is just so cute. I colored the image with my copics E11, E13, E33, E31, E53, E57, E59, V15, V17, V25, W3, W5, W7, YR04, YR02, Y38, YG63, G12. I used my sukura glitter pens on the word Halloween. The background paper is from the Martha Stewart 5x7 pad. the card stock is Bazzill the ghost is from my stash and so are the spiders, the word stamps are from a Paper Studio set from 2010.

2 SISTERS SKETCH CHALLENGE #95

Good morning all, it is time for another 2 Sisters Challenge. This week it is a sketch challenge. So stop on by and join us for another fun challenge. The design team would love for you to stop by their blogs and check them out. You can get there from my sidebar.

Since we are so close to father's day, I thought that I would make a card for my son who is always talking about trying the game of golf. He is a father of 2 and I thought that he might get a kick out this one. I don't usually get to make a lot of male cards. I have only the one son. But, there are 4 granddaughters and a daughter and lots of sisters. So you know why I love to play with bling. Making this card was really fun and I would like to thank our sponsor for the great images that we received to play with.

This is the sketch.
The image that I have used is Tag Focus. It was colored with copics E11, E13, E15, E50, E51, G21, G24, C1, and YR14. I also use the grey spica glitter pen on the golf club and yellow spica on the golf ball. The papers are from my scrap file and the DP are from K and Company and the gold is from Walmart. All of the papers in that pad are shiny without the glitter. I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the scalloped edge on the middle band and a Recollection 1" circle punch for the gold circle. The card stock is Bazzill.

12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS #4

Good morning bloggers, time is quickly running out for Christmas preparation. Only two more weeks to finish all of your shopping and decorating. I do love Christmas. I have been playing along with Tim Holtz and his 12 days of Christmas. Although, I am only up to #4. I hope to finish them all by the end of the year. Mostly, because I love trying the new techniques even though I don't have all of the products that he uses. I just emprovise with the things that I do have.

I used the #8 tag, and sail boat blue (andirondack alcohol ink) along with the silver fixative to get the color of the tag. I then stamped snowflakes with a recollection stamp using versamark ink and heat embossed. The snowman was cut from the Joys of the Season cricut cartridge and I used crackle accents to get the cracked look. I colored it with the same inks as the tags. The clear charm is Tim Holtz, the button is from my stash and the #25 is a chipboard letter set. The ribbons are from my stash. I did not have any white tulle (which is what Tim used). The pearls are Tim Holtz as is the wishes coin. The snowflake is cut with a Martha Stewart punch. Well, that is my tag, now on to #5.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Good morning fellow bloggers. It is so good to be back with another post and this time I am thinking Christmas. My plans were to be at least almost finished with my Christmas cards this year. Guess what, I have not even started. Not only have I not started mine, but I promised my sister that I would make her some also. (she is paying) and I have not started. So to get in the mood, my project for the Card Making group over at Stampin' Dymonz this week was to make a Purse Card and I decorated it in a Christmas design. Not bad for a first try.  We would love for you to join us at Stampin' Dymonz there is a lot going on, we have scrapbooking, cards, swaps of all kinds and there is so much talent in one place that it is scary sometimes. Stop by and make your self at home. You may meet some old friends or you just might make some new ones. I did....

BABY SCRAPBOOK PAGE

Good morning, today I am back with a new post, this time it is a scrapbook layout. I  have so many baby pictures of my grandchildren and just not a lot of time to get the work done. The layout for this page was one that I did at a scrapbook class and it has been sitting in a box every since. I loved the technique of stamping with versamark ink and then brushing on Perfect Pearls (the colors are so gorgeous) and once you brush off all of the excess powder, spray with a fixative (finally figured out what that was and bought some at Michaels yesterday), let dry and the page is ready to add your photos and embellishments.

SMELL THE ROSES

Good morning, I am here with a card that is not for any special reason or occasion. It was made as part of my DT duties at Stampin' Dymonz Scrap Shack, this weeks card is the stair step card, the directions can be found at Splitcoast Stampers. It is probably one of the easiest cards to make and can be decorated anyway you like. Over at the Scrap Shack I am a moderator in the Card Making Group and this last month has been great. I have made 3 cards  that I had never done before and revisted this one. I have made several stair step cards in the past. I really enjoy trying new designs and it definitely takes you out of your comfort zone.

I don't know why I never use these colors together very much, I think this is probably only the second time that I have. The combo of the two are really pretty together. I used 3 Martha Stewart punches, the roses are all from my stash. The card stock is Bazzill and a lot of the pieces were scraps. (I am working very hard to make my scrap pile smaller. The butterflies were punched with a Marvy punch and colored with spica glitter pens, pink and melon. Both stamps are from the dollar bin at Michaels and colored with copics RV06, RV04, RV11, RV21, RV34, G12, G21.

Well, that is it for now except for the challenges. I hope that you have enjoyed your visit and will return soon. There is much more creating to be done.

SPRING TIME BIRTHDAY

Good morning everyone, I have a new card and some sad news. At least sad for me. This week I got the news that Tellen's Place was changing its format and with the direction that it was going  they would no longer need the services of a full design team. I am now out of a position. I will be looking for a new team to work with and if any of you know of anything I will be willing to listen. When I started blogging Tellen's Place was one of the first blogs that I joined in with the challenges and from there it led to a position on the team. Terry is a wonderful lady and it was a pleasure to work with her. I love the images that her son draws and I will continue to use them on a regular basis. You can visit Terry at the new format and still get the images you love at Tellen's Place Designs, there are lots of new designs and she will have blog candy and even a few challenges. I will be joining in myself. Thanks for a great opportunity Terry.

My new card is another Kenny K image and it was created for the oldest granddaughter of a friend. but, I think that it gives a feel of Springtime with the Basic grey papers (from the Wisteria pack). I love the dragon flies in the background, the flowers are Prima and the bling is from my stash. I used the Cuttlebug spots and dots folder the the card stock is from Bazzill. I colored the image with copics E00, E11, E13, E25, E42, BG93, BG95, BG10, W3, W5, YG61 and the spica glitter pens melon and mint. The punch is Martha Stewart and the ticket sentiment is from a set sent to me by a friend. The sketch is from Lollipop Crafts.

I embossed the inside with one of the folders from the Cuttlebug art deco set and the stamped sentiment is from Stampendous.

BIRTHDAY WISHES (YOU ARE FABULOUS)

Wow, its Monday evening already and I really feel like I could use a nap. But, instead I am here to post a new card. This card is one of 3 that a friend asked me to make for her 3 granddaughters. This one is for the first birthday which is on the 28th of April. The young lady is going to be 17 years old. I chose a Kenny K image because after going through my stash, I thought this one would be perfect.

The image was colored with copic E09, E11, E13, E25, E15, BOO, B93, B95, C3, C5, C7 and spica sky blue glitter pen. The DP is by My Minds Eye (Stella and Rose) Hattie Papers. I really loved the colors and the designs and I just had to have this pad. The card stock is Bazzill. The paper flowers were kind of plain so I used some martha Stewart glitter to spice them up, ribbon and bling are from my stash. I used 2 different Spellbinders, curved rectangles and Dahlia, I also used one of the Spellbinders ribbon labels. The embossing folder is from the art deco set by Cuttlebug. I stitched with my little purple Pixie. and the sentiment (you are fabulous) is a $1 stamp from Michaels. The happy birthday stamp is from a clear set of stamps. Yes, there are several challenges.

BIRTHDAY WISHES

Happy Friday everyone. Has it seemed like a really long week to anyone else. I love the photography class and I think that I am learning a lot. About f/stops and shutter speeds, lighing and knowing what everything in your menu means. Checking your settings before you start shooting. There is much more to learn. I will be posting some of my photos just as soon as I get some time to get them on the computer. It probably won't be until after this class session ends next week. I will be signing up for more. The class I am in right now is a beginners class and I plan to work at this until I make it to the advanced class. The photographer/teacher is fabulous and funny. He really loves what he does and enjoys sharing it with others. He takes the time to listen to your questions and never makes you fill like you have asked a stupid question. Ok, enough about that.

Since my birthday was on Tuesday, isn't it fun that the challenge at Tellen's Place this week is Birthdays. The DIVA's have had a fun time creating and you can see all of these at Tellens's Place. The challenge is open to all and you don't have to use a Tellen's image, but if you do, you get extra points when we vote. This week Terry is offering a freebie and you get that on the challenge blog. Please remember that there is only one ENTRY per person. If you enter more than once the Divas will not leave a comment on the second entry and it will not be considered in the voting. We love stopping by your blogs to visit and leave a little love.  So stop on by Tellen's and show us your birthday love. The card that I made is done with an image from the 2009 designs. and since it was my birthday it is a card for me and about me.

This image was colored with copics E00, E11, E13, E15, E09,  BV00,BV02, BV04, I used a purple glaze pen on the hat, belt and shoes. The bling balloon is from my stash as is the flowers and brad. The punched edges were sent to me by my team mate Sandra. She is just so sweet. She punched me lots and lots of different shaped pieces and I can't wait to get to them. The DP is Basic Grey (kioshi) I do love this paper and I hate to waste any of it. The it's all bout me stamp is from the $1 bin at Michaels. To make the ME stand out, I used Martha Stewart glitter on it.  the celebrate and it's my party stamps are from a $1 clear stamp set that I think came from Michaels also. Well that is it for this card. And maybe, there are a couple of challenges.

STRIPES!

Happy Friday my wonderful blogger friends. And since it is Friday, it is time for another Tellen's Place  challenge. This week we want to see your STRIPES. That's right show us your stripes and then  link your creation to the Tellen's Place blog and you are in. Please remember that there is only one ENTRY per person. Once you are linked, the DIVAS will stop by your blog and leave you just a little love. If you use a Tellen's Place image, you will also receive extra points in the voting. So please stop by and join us for another exciting challenge.

The image that I have used is from the 2009 collection. I always loved this particular DIVA and thought this would be a great time to pull her out.

The Diva was colored with copics E11, E13, E15, E25, G20, G21, G24, V04, V06, spica glitter pens, lilac and lavender. The papers are Basic Grey (kioshi pad). The card stock is Bazzill, the Martha stewart punch is a new one for me. And would you believe that I through the packaging away without writing down the name. I know, I have to stop that. The hearts were bought at Hobby Lobby, just because some of them had stripes on them. The sentiment is from a clear stamp set.

A VISIT WITH SANTA CLAUSE

Hi all, just a short post for today. I have been kind of sad today, yesterday I lost a very special person in my life. She has been a valuable influence on my life for all of my life. And her absence will be felt for many years to come. I was not very creative today and spent some time going through old photos remembering happy times. So, while I did not make any cards, I did do some scrapbooking and my project today is of a picture of me with Santa Clause.

The picture was taken at Walmart last year. I was walking through the store doing my shopping and I guess Santa was having a slow day. They asked me if I wanted to take a picture with Santa and I agreed. When I told my granddaugthers that I had taken a photo with Santa, they got such a kick out of that. The DP paper is from The Paper Studio. The paper pieced Santa is from Kayla Kreations. The paper with the swiss dots is Bazzill. I cut the title with my Cricut and the snowflakes were punched with a Martha Stewart punch and glitter paper from Walmart was used for both. And since I am here, I guess I might as well enter this page into a couple of challenges.

A PURPLE BIRTHDAY WISH

Happy Sunday everybody. Finally I have finished my Christmas cards and they are ready to address and mail. And that is why I am just finishing my first card for posting. I think that I have mentioned before that I am in a birthday club, well I only have a few more cards to make and this is one of them. Her choice of colors were purples so that was right up my alley. The image  is from Kenny K. Krafty Girlz the challenge is Monochromatic. I used a freebie that I got from Kenny K. a few weeks ago. She's called Holla Back Girl. The 2 DP are digital paper from Gina K at Stamp TV. They were freebies also. One is deep plum, although it did not print that way and the other is like embossed leaves although you can't see that with all the layers. I have to work on my color output. The card stock is from The Paper Studio. the image is colored with copics E00, E09, E11, E13, E25, W1, W3, W5, V01, V04, V12, spica glitter pens; lilac, lavender and gold. The punch is Martha Stewart. The flowers are Petaloo. The embossing folder is from the new Art Deco set by Cutlebug. I got it recently at Hobby Lobby with a 40% coupon. The ribbon is from my stash as is the bling. The sentiment is from a clear stamp set.

Well, that is it for this card and yes there are more challenges.
