Good morning bloggers. I am back with another project and it feels good to be posting on a regular basis again. This week I will try and keep the post short. I want to share a project that I made for a swap with a good friend. The swap was to take a match box and alter it. I bought the large box of matches at the Dollar Tree and changed it into something that I think is totally gorgeous. I also made a pin cushion and stick pins.
For the matchbox I first painted it black with some craft paint and then I wrapped it with white lace using modge podge. when that was dry I added some rosette trim from Hobby Lobby on the sides. I did add some half glass beads for feet and decorated with bling from Recollections and flowers from Prima and recollections. The butterfly is also Recollections.
The pin cushion was made using a small clay flower pot that I painted with the same black paint. I used some poly fil for the cushion and wrapped it in some satin fabric that I got at Joann's and then wrapped that with some black lace also from Joann's. I then hot glued that inside the pot. I decorated the outside with the same bling used on the box and added some of the rosette trim and some white trim from Hobby Lobby. the stick pins were all made with beads and stick pins from my stash.
