A MAN'S BIRTHDAY CARD

Today this is going to be a very short post. I am so far behind on all that I want to do and need a plan to get caught up. This card was made for one of my cousins. His mother requested it and I hope that he liked it. It is a very simple card with some embossing using the new Darice birthday embossing folder that I recently bought and card stock from Michaels and the paper used to mat the embossing is from a mat stack that I have had in my stash for years from DCWV.

This card is really simple, my problem is that I don't make very many men cards in a year and I really need to practice do these. There are mostly girls and women in my family and the men don't really care about things like this and I usually just buy them cards. (I know how bad is that). The life of the party is a pocket page card from we are memory keepers. The stamp is one from my stash that I use all of the time and don't remember where it is from. The birthday king is from an embellishment set that I got at Tuesday Morning the cake in the corner is also from that set. Well that is it for this card. I hope to be back soon with another project.

WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?

Hello bloggers, yes it has been a very long time since I have blogged anything and it just seems that no matter how hard I tried I just did not have enough time in my day to get this done. I have been crafting but, just no time for the rest.

Today with Valentine's day just around the corner I have several items that I made for the occasion. A mini album, a card and a picture frame.

I will start with the card first, I used the Recollections corrugated card base and the paper is from Prima (Romance Novel). The bling is from K and Company, I used 2 different spellbinders dies, the bling is recollection and the hearts that say love is from a set of boarders from K and Company that I bought on clearance 3 years ago. The very shiny foil paper is from recollections also as is the strip of bling on the piece of ribbon. The stamp is from Inkadinkado. I papered the inside of the card with the same papers from Prima.

The mini album was made using the Zutter cover and my Cinch. The papers are from the same collection as the card. The Love is from Michaels. I used the same double strip of bling as on the card and the swirled bling is from Prima. the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Michaels and the little red roses are from Prima. The album has a total of  8 pages and you can see it in my video on   YT.
The frame is a $1 frame that I bought at Michaels, it was white and I painted red using paint from Folk-art. The stamp that I used for the sentiment was from Michaels $1.50 bin and the roses are prima. After painting the frame red, I rubbed on some Inka gold.

CHRISTMAS MINI ALBUM

Good morning, I am here with a very quick post. I know it has been a while and I hope to get back into the swing of things soon. I am in the process of packing up for an upcoming move and it just reminds me how much I hate move from one place to another. But, life changes and you have to be willing to go with those changes. I have been creating just not posting any of it. So this is one of my more recent projects. It is a 4x6 Christmas mini album that I made using scrap papers. Some of the papers are from Recollections, some are from K and Company and a couple of the pieces are from DCWV. I like for my albums to lay flat, so I have not added any embellishments yet. I want to wait until photos are added.

The base of each page is made with cardstock and holds a tag like the one shown above. I bound it using my Cinch by We R Memory Keepers. Love it. The tab on each mat was made by  the Stampin Up tab punch, which I borrowed from a friend. Well, that is it for this project I will be back soon. You can see the video for this album on my Youtube .

BUTTERFLY CHALLENGE #24 AT BROWN SUGAR CHALLENGE BLOG

Good morning, I am so excited. I was recently asked to join the Design team at Brown Sugar Challenge Blog. I started playing there last year and it was always lots of fun. They were a fairly new challenge blog. But, everyone there is so nice and friendly. So, come on over and join us. You will be glad that you did. The challenge this week is Butterflies and the sponsor is Delicious Doodles, they have some wonderful images and also have a challenge blog. You should go by and check them out.

My image is called "Butterfly Kisses" and was colored using copics.E11, E13, E23, E53, the purple star jelly roll glitter pen and the atyou spica glitter pen pink. I also used the Momento marker, lilac posies. The DP paper is K and Company, the card stock is DCWV and it is from a new mat stack that I recently bought and I used a kraft card base from Recollections. The bling was part of my Christmas gift from my sister. She always knows just what to get me. I used the scallop edge corner chomper from We R Memory Keepers for the corners. The sentiment stamp is from a set Hero arts. It is one of those sets that has a sentiment for almost everything. That is it for this card. Please join us at Brown Sugar Challenges.

GDT @ TAMMY'S SCRAPIN CORNER

That is right, my title says it all. I was chosen to be the Guest Designer at Tammy's Scrapin Corner, I found this blog a few months ago and have really enjoyed playing in the challenges over there. So, I was really pleased to be chosen to to be the Guest Designer for the week. This weeks challenge is Anything Goes.

My project this week is a tag that I made for my scrapbook group. We will be going on our annual retreat in a couple of weeks and I like to commemorate the event. I used a resist technique, I used a text background stamp from Stampabilites and stamped with versamark and then used clear utee to emboss it. Then I went over the whole thing with Tim Holtz distress ink Wild honey. I used the Tim Holtz sewing room die cut and then painted the dress form with a bronze acrylic paint, the tulle and ribbon is from Hobby lobby. the bling is from my stash. I typed the information about the retreat on my computer and the fun in the sun stamp is out of the $1 bin at Michaels. I used glazed pens to color in the fun in the sun stamp. I love the raised effect. It is like it was embossed. I colored the sea horse charm with copic marker #77. The ribbon is from my stash. The tag is 4 1/8 x 8 1/2. I bought them from Ellen Huston online. I really like the size of them. The flowers are Recollections and have been sitting on my shelf since last year. I bought about 8 jars of them when they were clearanced out and I really love them. The corner punches were made with the Corner chompers from We R Memory Keepers I love these because you get to different cuts on each one. This one has art deco and ticket cuts.

This really looks better in person than it does it the photo. But, I do love how it turned out. I will be using mind as the cover page of my beach travel journal for this year. That resist technique is fabulous and I will be using it more. The type of stamp used will determine the results that you get. and the way that you ink the project will also make the looks different. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to go over to Tammy's Scrapin Corner and join in the fun.

BIRTHDAY WISHES

Good morning, I have been so busy trying to get ready for the craft show that I am participating in that I forgot to post a project yesterday and I also forgot that my 3rd year blogging anniversary is fast approaching. Can you believe it has been almost 3 years. I sure can't. So stay tuned, I need to think a little bit about how I want to celebrate it this year and I will come back and announce it just as soon as I can.

I am going to keep this post short, I have to get back to my card making and I only have one more month to do it. Today my card is a birthday card that I made for one of my co-workers. She has only been working with us for a short time, so I thought that this would make her feel welcome. We had been without anyone in that position for several months and I was truly glad that we finally found someone that worked out.

I really do love the Bugaboo Stamps. Jodie is the artist and Scarlett is one of my favorite characters. she is such a diva. So stop on by and see Jodie, I bet that you will find something that you will just love. The image was colored with copics and  E11, E13, E09, E15, E71, YR02, YR00, there were a couple more and of course I can't find my list.  The sentiments were stamped with a new stamp set that I bought at Hobby Lobby on clearance, I embossed with the cuttlebug birthday embossing folder. The papers are Bazzill, don't you just love that peachy orangey color. The bling is from my stash. The corners were done with my corner chomper (the scallop side).
