Good morning all, I can't believe that it has been 2 weeks since my last post. I have been having a very busy time and not much computer time. I was out of town for a while visiting with family and friends that I had not seen for a while. I helped my cousin to celebrate her 65th birthday and that was loads of fun. The way that we celebrated was to have an outdoor party/cookout. The tempertures were in the high 90s. And we had a crowd there for the celebration. There were tents setup up in the back yard with lots of food and drinks. While celebrating it rained on us. And I could not beleive that not one person left the party because of the rain. We just hung out under the tents until it stopped. After the rain a beautiful rainbow came out and I actually got a wonderful photo of it. The project that I am showing today is the mini album that I made for her birthday. She loved it. Once I get the photos printed and in the book I will give it back to her.
This is the cover of the book, the papers used are from Hobby Lobby and the pads are called Simple elegance with foil. I have both the 4.5x6.5 and the 12x12 pads. When I decided to use this paper I already had the small pad and went to Hobby Lobby to get the 12x12 one and they had it clearanced out and it was the very last one that they had. How lucky for me. I used 7 large envelopes for the pages, they are also from Hobby Lobby, they are the A9 size (5.75x8.75). They have not always carried this size. The bling is from Michaels, I stamped the (it's your birthday sentiment with versamark and embossed it with gold embossing powder from Tim Holtz). It was cut out using a Spellbinders label die. I used the Tim Holtz ornate plate, stamp the word celebrate cut it out to fit inside the plate used glossy accents to glue it in and then filled the opening with glossy accents to make a little window. I really love how that turned out. I used the Tim Holtz metal corners on both the front and the back corners. Now a little about the flowers. The gold flower is from Recollection. The center black flower is Prima. The two on the end I made those. I punced out 2 layers for each, sprayed them with black glimmer mist let them dry, went over them with some some Tim Holtz acrylic paint. once that dried I took some some of those little berry like things off of some picks that I had laying around painted them black and hot glued them to the center of the flowers. I then sprayed once again with black glimmer mist, let them dry and then spray with gold glimmer mist. I have never before spent so much time making flowers. But, I really love how they came out. I bound my book using my CINCH.
Every other page has a double pocket, which will have several tags for photos and journally. The end of each envelope had the ends cut off and now hold a very large tag. I love that all of the papers coordinate so well.
I still have to add the photos and decorate the other pages, but I decided to embellish after the photos were added. I used the scalloped crop-i-dile for the corners on the small tag. And I used the Tim Holtz brackets on the edge die for the large tag.
Well, I hope that you have enjoyed taking a look at my newest mini album. I must say that I truly enjoy making them and I have made one for most of my immediate girly family members. I find that when I make them, I just hate to hold on to them so I give them away to be used. I think that is where most of my joy comes in at. That others seem to love them as much as I do.
