TIM HOLTZ 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS continues

Hi all, I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas/holiday celebration. I did and on my down time I got to do some crafting. I was able to complete two more tags similar to Tims in the 12 tags of Christmas. I completed #s 5 and 6. Since I don't have all of the products that Tim used, I improvised and made them my own.

For #5, I used the Sizzix embossing folder Christmas words. I rub versamark on the top part of the folder and then ran it through my cuttlebug.  I then sprinkled the tag with white embossing powder and used my heat gun. After which I rubbed the tag with brick red distress ink. the wreath was cut with my cricut and pearls and stickles was added to decorate. The ribbon is from Michaels.

#6 was embossed with one of the cuttlebug art deco embossing folders and then each section was rubbed with a different distress ink. the music section is just a scrap of paper left over from another project.  The sentiment is also left over from another project. the wreath was cut on the cricut from the Joys of the season cartridge. All ribbon is from my stash. Well that is it for now. I am working on #7 and hope to finish them off eventually.  I have had a wonderful time making these tags and next year I will use them on the gifts that I give to friends and family.

Well, for now this is it. I will be back later with an annoucement of what the new year holds for me.

12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS #4

Good morning bloggers, time is quickly running out for Christmas preparation. Only two more weeks to finish all of your shopping and decorating. I do love Christmas. I have been playing along with Tim Holtz and his 12 days of Christmas. Although, I am only up to #4. I hope to finish them all by the end of the year. Mostly, because I love trying the new techniques even though I don't have all of the products that he uses. I just emprovise with the things that I do have.

I used the #8 tag, and sail boat blue (andirondack alcohol ink) along with the silver fixative to get the color of the tag. I then stamped snowflakes with a recollection stamp using versamark ink and heat embossed. The snowman was cut from the Joys of the Season cricut cartridge and I used crackle accents to get the cracked look. I colored it with the same inks as the tags. The clear charm is Tim Holtz, the button is from my stash and the #25 is a chipboard letter set. The ribbons are from my stash. I did not have any white tulle (which is what Tim used). The pearls are Tim Holtz as is the wishes coin. The snowflake is cut with a Martha Stewart punch. Well, that is my tag, now on to #5.

TIM HOLTZ 12 TAGS OF CHRISTMAS

Good evening, I have spent the day crafting. I have never before played along with Tim Holtz, but decided to give it a shot. So, today I have finished all 3 of the tags that he has done so far. I did not have a lot of the products that he did, so I have improvised on a lot of things

Tag 1.

For this tag I colored the #8 tag with Tim Holtz distress ink denim and then embossed with the cuttlebug snowflake folder, I rubbed the folder with versamark ink and then ran it through the cuttlebug. Added embossing powder and used the heat gun after rubbing some of the powder off of the snowflakes. The word joy was cut on my cricut from the joys of Christmas cartridge using the image and shadow, and then used diamond dust stickles to make it glitter. The ribbon is from my stash and was colored with the denim ink. the pearls are Tim Holtz. the silver pearls are from my stash. the bannner was cut from The Paper Studio's music paper. The leaves are from a $1 stamp and the silver were taken off of some Christmas decorations and instead of pinecones, I used brown Recollections roses.
Tag 2 was made using a #8 tag and the music paper is from the Paper Studio. The twine from my stash as are the red pearls. the reindeer was cut from the Joys of Christmas cricut cartridge and coin is Tim Holtz. The holly was stamped with a $1 stamp from Michaels. Merry Christmas stamp is Recollections and was heat embossed using inkadinkado embossing powder.  The brads are from my stash. the snowflake was left over from another project.

Tag 3 was stamped with different stamps from my stash and the red ribbon, twine is from my stash. The little angel came off my small tree. Tim used a bell, but I did not have one. the red pearls are from my stash and the stamp is $1 from Michaels.

These are my versions of Tim's tags. Can't wait to see what he does tomorrow.
